The NBK TERRART™ Light system makes the beauty of terracotta facade tiles available at a more attractive cost. Excellent durability, reduced weight per unit area, and a secure “clip and hold” affixing system ensure easy installation and very good performance.

TERRART™ Light façades meet the high standards for quality and aesthetics to which NBK Architectural Terracotta is committed as a leading manufacturer of façade systems. Building owners and design/construction teams can now consider terracotta tiles whenever renovating and reconstructing façades with this system, which supports tiles up to 1,524 mm (5’-0”) in length and 400 mm (1’-3¾”) in height. A low weight per unit area of approximately 33 kg/m² (6.75 lbs/sq.ft.) allows panels to mount with just a few holes and dowels to almost any façade.

TERRART™ Light is a ventilated curtain wall/ rainscreen open-joint system made from Terracotta. The manufacture of clay-based construction materials centers on three elements – clay, water, and fire. Exploiting the age-old traditions, skills, and workmanship for processing the material clay, NBK has developed the TERRART™ terracotta façade system.


NBK tiles can achieve compelling visual effects with our profiled surface grooves and textures. TERRART™ Light tiles are available in Natural, Grooved, Wire Struck, and Ribbed finishes.

TEXTURES

Building architecture increasingly uses profiles and textures as a design feature.

A range of profiles is available to meet the design need of any project.


Engobe finishes, available in matte, gloss, and semi-gloss, feature white or colored clay slip coating applied to the ceramic body to impart colors or textures. Manufactured in a single-fired process, engobe finishes do not have any coated edges. Architect-specified engobe finishes are also available, allowing an additional range of colors that can be manufactured specifically for a given project.

TERRART™ Light offers nearly the identical range of natural colors as seen for other portions of the TERRART™ Light program. NBK’s expertise in complex mixing techniques and traditional firing methods set the standard for Terracotta façade design. All NBK Terracotta products are weather and frost resistant.
