What is Waste Water Treatment Sludge?

- Residue of Waste Water Treatment with (almost) all pollutants

- Consists of Feces and Bio-sludge from treatment process

- 70-80% Water Content

Problems: - High disposal cost - Energy consuming incineration necessary for safe disposal

Basic principle of TerraNova® Ultra: Hydrothermal Carbonization (HTC)

- Acceleration of natural coal generation with 4 hours

- Under lack of oxygen, temperature 180°C and pressure > 20 bar - Desintegration of cell structures

- Carbonization to coal slurry

- Separation of sludge water („Ultradewatering“) to solid fuel (like lignite coal)
