Whileweendeavourtobeasflexibleaspossible,itisimportantthatweadheretocertainrulestoavoiddisappointmentandconfusionforbothparties,

ViewingVideoClasses

Theseareinyourstudentaccount(afterloggingin)intheCoursessection.

Refunds

Paymentsmadearenon-refundableandnon-transferrablebetweencoursesandworkshops(comingsoon).Refundsareonlyconsideredinexceptional

circumstanceswherethepersonenrollinghascontacteduswith48hoursofmaking

theenrolment.Anysuchrefundsaremadeatourdiscretionandaresubjecttoanadministrationfeeof25perplaceenrolled.

Tutorials/Assessments

ALLassessmentsforLevel1AwardandLevel2Certificatequalificationsmustbe

completedataphysicalassessmentcentreaftertheonlinetrainingiscomplete.Itismostlikelythestudentsallocatedtutorwillbepersonmeetingthematthecentre.

Thelocationoftheassessmentcentre,anddate,isdependantonallourstudents

locationsanddatesofcompletingtheircourses.Thisiswhyseverallocations,andthroughouttheyear,willbesetupacrosstheUKtotryaccommodateallstudentsas

convenientlyaspossible.

Studentsareremindedtoattendallwebcamtutorialsthattheyarrangewiththeir

tutor.AllBSLcoursesrequirestudentstocompletetheirtutorialstoreceivemoreclassvideosintheirstudentaccountand,ultimately,preparethemforthe

assessmentsandgainqualification,wherenecessary

Shouldastudentfailtoattendanytutorial,attheinitialdateandtimeagreed

betweenthetutorandstudent,andfailuretoinformthetutor48hours

beforehandthattheycannotattend,theywilllosethetutorialaltogetherandwouldhavetomakeupthetimeinthefollowingtutorial.However,shouldthestudentfeel

thattheirmissedtutorialisindeedrequired,theymayfacepayinganadministrationfeeforsuchrearrangement(seeprices,below).

Classmaterials,scheduledaftertutorials,cannotbereleasedintothestudentsClassessectionuntilthetutorhasuploadedthetutorialclipintothestudents

Tutorialspage.Itisthestudentsresponsibilitytocompletetutorials,justasitisinanormalclassroomenvironment,forfurtherprogressioninthecourse.

Unless,ofcourse,itisthestudentsagreementinwritingtotheirtutor/assessorthat

theydonotwishtocompletethemissedtutorialwherebyclassmaterialwillbereleased,despitethismethodbeinghighlyadvisedagainstandthat,withoutthe

expertadvise/feedbackfromourtutors/assessorsandpracticethereof,itwould

mostlikelyhinderthestudentsdevelopmenttowardqualification.

ArrangementofTutorials

Thetutorwillinitiallyproposedatesandtimes,viaMessages,forthestudents

considerationtotryarrangethewebcamtutorialsscheduledtohappenthroughoutthecourse.Ifthetutorsproposalsalsosuitthestudent,thestudentmustthen

confirmsucharrangementsintheirrelevantTutorialssections,underCourses,intheirstudentaccount,byclickingontheirConfirmbutton.

Ontheotherhand,ifthestudentfindthatthetutorsproposalisnotsuitable,thestudentcanemailtheirtutor,viatheMessagessection,tosuggestanalternative

dateandtimeofwhentheycandoit.Ifthetutorishappywiththestudentscounter-proposal,theywillconfirmthem.Butifthetutorcannotdoitforsomereason,theywillproposeanotherdateandtimeforthestudentsconsideration.This

methodofproposalsandcounter-proposalswillcontinueuntilboththestudentandtutorcanagreeonasuitabledateandtime.However,ifthestudentisuncertainofa

dateandtimeforatutorial,theycanwaituntilnearerthetimebutnolessthan48

hoursbeforethetutorsproposal.

Asmentionedabove,course/classmaterialsscheduledaftertutorialscannotbe

releasedintothestudentsClassesTableuntilthetutorhasuploadedthetutorialclipintothestudentsTutorialspage.Itisthestudentsresponsibilityto

completetutorials,justasitisinnormalclassroomenvironments,forfurtherprogressioninthecourse.Failuretodosomayresultinpayingan

administrationfeetoarrangeanotherone(seepricesbelow).

AllonlinecoursesdurationsarebasedonthenumberofWeeks(orsections)fromthedateofwhenthestudentenrolledontheircourse.EachWeekisaminimumof7

daysuntilthenextscheduledWeekistriggeredtostart(pleasenotethataWeekis

notadeadlinebutratheragoalforstudentstoachieve).

Forexample,mostcourses,inWeek1,willhaveanIntroductionvideoclipandthefirstclassvideoreleasedintothestudentsAccountforthemtowatchandpractice

withfor7daysuntilitisthentimeforthemtoarrangeawebcamtutorialwiththeir

tutorsometimeduringWeek2.

Oncethetutorialhasbeencompleted,thetutorwilluploadtherecordedtutorialon

tothestudentsaccountinwhichwillthentriggerWeek3tostartasscheduled.Andsoonuntiltheendofthecourse.

Asmentionedabove,classmaterialsscheduledaftertutorialscannotbereleasedin

tothestudentsClassessectionuntilthetutorhasuploadedthetutorialclipinto

thestudentsTutorialTable.Itisthestudentsresponsibilitytocomplete

tutorials,justasitisinnormalclassroomenvironments,forfurtherprogressioninthecourse.Unless,ofcourse,itisthestudentsagreementin

CourseInformation

BSLCOURSES.CO.UKwillendeavourtokeepallcourseinformationcorrectandup-

to-date.However,wereservetherighttoaltercoursedetails,includingtutorand

assessordetailsandallocation,orcoursematerial,atanytimeshouldanyunforeseencircumstancesoccur.Anychangeswouldbenotifiedbyemail.

StudentDetails

BSLCOURSES.CO.UKwillkeepanystudentdetailsonadatabaseheldonlybyusfor

thepurposesofadministration,marketresearchandmailing,bypostoremail,ofourownpublicityfromtimetotime.PleaseseeourDataProtectionpolicyformore

details.

WebcamTutorialRequirements

Tomaximisethequality(speed)ofwebcamconversationsduringatutorial,allstudentsareaskedtodothefollowing,whereverpossible:

- turnoffallotherelectricalequipmentthatsharethebroadbandconnection,

especiallyphonedevices,printers,laptops,etc,thatusethewirelessoption;

- ideally(althoughnotcompulsory),forastronger,fasterandmoresecured

broadbandspeed,connectyourcomputertothebroadbandhub/router

directlybyusinganEthernetcableandtrynottousethewirelessoption;

- makeyourwebcamwindowassmallasyoucan(thisstopscloggingup,orslowingdown,theprocessingspeedrequiredforthegraphicsinvolvedforwebcamusage)wefindthatawebcamwindowofjust4inches(regardless

ofthecomputersresolutionsetting)workswellforbothsidesoftheconversation.

Nonpaymentswhenpayingininstalments

ShouldastudentbeunabletopayaBACSinstalmentbythedatesetoutinthe

invoice,thestudentscourse(includingunreleasedclasses,tutorialsand,whereapplicable,assessments)willautomaticallybeputonholduntilthetimetheir

paymentisclearedasonewouldfindonapay-as-you-goscheme.

ThesamewouldapplytoanyPayPalinstalmentshavingnotbeenreceivedata

scheduledmonthlydatefromenrolment,thecoursewouldbeputonholduntilthepaymentiscleared.
