About Square Hospital

Square Hospitals Limited, a concern of Square Group is a 320-bed tertiary care hospital. The hospital is an affiliate partner of Methodist Healthcare, Memphis, Tennessee, USA, Sing Health, Singapore, Bangkok Hospital Medical Centre, Thailand and Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. A lot of physicians have joined from CMC-Vellore, India. Bangladeshi Physicians with impeccable reputation are also part of the medical team. Huge emphasis has been made on quality nursing services, as we have trained over a hundred nurses for over a year. We have nurse educators from Australia, UK, India and the Philippines. Nurses and technicians have already received training from CMC-Vellore which continues to be an on- going process. Square Hospital is located in the heart of Dhaka and aims to serve greater portion of the capital city. At present it comprises of two buildings on either side of Panthapath connected by an over-bridge. The main hospital building is 18 stories and is approximately 450,000 sq.ft. The second building (ASTRAS) is located across the street and is 16 stories with 136,000 sq.ft. The second building is expected to be operational by 2011. Both facilities are constructed in accordance with US Fire and Building safety standards The outpatient department of this hospital can serve up to 1200 patients daily, through 60 examination rooms. To ensure optimum healthcare-hospitality, the patients are closely monitored in their waiting times in outpatient clinics, emergency and admissions.

 About half a dozen physicians are coming from CMC, Vellore. Bangladeshi physicians with impeccable reputation are also a part of the medical team. Huge emphasis has been made on quality nursing services, for which we have trained over a hundred nurses for more than a year. We have nurses educators from Australia, UK, India and the Philippines. Nurses and technicians have already received training from CMC Vellore and it continues to be an on-going process.   Medical services will be provided as both outpatient and inpatient services as well as Ambulance Service. Dental services are also incorporated within the medical services.

Recommendations on sustainable business of Square Hospital:

• Medical treatments for senior citizens: There are many old homes for senior citizens of the country. The medical facilities in these places are not up to the mark. Here the Square hospital authority can sign an agreement with the old home authorities to take the medical responsibilities of the senior citizens.

Under this agreement, they will be responsible for any sort of medical treatments with a minimum cost.

This will help them to build a positive image & chance to contribute for the society.

They can access the maximum potential customers without massive competition.

• Blood Donation waiver :

The Square Hospital authority can offer waiver for the regular blood donor. Under this waiver they can offer minor medical services for blood donor in exchange of blood collection.

We know a man can donate blood four times a year. The blood of the regular donors will be stored in the blood bank of the Square Hospital. This blood will be available for patients of this hospital.

In return, the donors will get minor medical facilities such as Fever, Cold, Cough etc. Moreover, they will also get discount for medical checkups.

Incentives for new born child:

The Square Hospital authority can introduces an incentive package for the children born in the hospital. Under this incentive package the infant will get necessary medical treatments and tips at a reduced cost up to one year age.

As we know a new born infant needs utmost care and health tips for better growth. This package can attract the pregnant mothers as they are always concerned about the new born child.

This will attract a wide variety of customers.

• Awareness build up & medical check ups for female students:

The teen age female student’s needs special counseling on the change their body undergoes. The hospital can arrange such counseling.

The hospital authority can introduce medical check up packages for female student to diagnosis diseases like breast cancer, uterus cancer & other feminine diereses.
