The class will depart from Teven-Tintenbar Public School at 9:00 am and return to Teven-Tintenbar Public School between 4-4:30pm. The only pick up and drop off point will be school. If your child usually catches the bus to or from school you will need to make alternative arrangements.

Year 6 - important dates Year 6 have started their very busy term with a great, hard-working attitude. We're having a lot of fun in class with our budgets and a bit of spreadsheet mastery on the side. Please keep an eye out in this newsletter and for notes coming home for the following events:

Week 4 – We will be having “high school week” where students will be working to a Year 7-like timetable each day. Information will come home later this week.

Wednesday 13th November - Ballina Coast HS transition day. Unfortunately there is an unavoidable clash with swimming. We expect notes from BCHS this week.

Thursday 5th December - Year 6 Fun Day at Ballina Pool and Waterslide.

Tuesday 10th December (6pm) - Year 6 Farewell Dinner at Cherry Street Sports.

Fun Day and Farewell notes will come home later in the term, closer to the events. As soon as costs are confirmed for these events we will advise families.

Before & After School Care Our Before & after school provider Rainbow Children’s Centre started today. Enrolment forms are available at the office or you can download one off the OOSHC website.

Library Reminder of the library days for Term Four: Monday – 5M , 6T & 3 / 4 C Wednesday – 1/2W, 1/2 S & 3/4K Thursday - K S , KH

Early/Late pickup We no longer accept notes for early pickup’s that involve outside school activities such as swimming lessons, dancing/singing lessons. If you need to pick your child up early, the teacher will require a note that morning so that arrangements can be made. Early leavers must be recorded on the day by an adult in our attendance register at the office. Children will no longer be called to the office due to the disruption of the whole school when this happens, so a pass will be given to the adult and the student will need to be collected from their classroom.

No students before 9am A reminder that under no circumstances should children be onsite before 9am unless in the direct supervision of their parent. Please note playground duty doesn’t start until 9am. The only children that will be on site before this time will be in the care of our OOSHC team, Please contact Rainbow Children’s Centre on 66866621 if you would like to arrange before or after school care.

Lids4Kids Thank you to everyone who is collecting the plastic lids for the Lids4Kids fundraiser. Each classroom now has their own box so students can drop their lids to their rooms until the 13th December.

Bus Fares When your child is travelling by bus to and from school, they need to show the driver their current bus pass. The bus pass is only for one bus line- Blanches or Ballina. If travelling on a different bus service, or going to a friend’s house etc, children need to pay a fare to the bus driver. This includes the short trip to Bright Horizons for students without a Ballina Buslines bus pass which is $1.10. Please ensure your child has the right amount of money for bus travel if they don’t have the right bus pass.

Maths mindset - Home help ideas

Everyday Mathematics: We all use mathematics daily in what we do. Involve your child in using numbers to solve problems and make those everyday decisions with you. For example: “Do we have enough plates and uten-sils for all the guests coming for the birthday party?” “We are doubling this recipe. How much of all the ingredients will we need?” “We are fertilizing the lawn. The ferti-lizer bag covers three square metres. How many will we need?” “This store is selling the game you want for 20% off of $27.00. That store is selling the same game for $19.99. Where should we shop?”
