Washing hands has been a big thing recently, so we thought is would

be good to know how to paint them as well.

At the moment there’s a Tik Tok challenge that’s super fun where

people replicate the hand emojis in time to a song called Y2K & Bbno

(I think).

You can see people doing it here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmyIdVU-WhI

The kids can have a bit of fun trying the TikTok hand challenge.

Then talk about how hands are an important part of our expression and people

often avoid drawing them thinking they are hard.

We know better of course.

After having a go at the Tik Tok challenge the kids will draw and paint hands using

the Tik Tok emojis as a guide.

Special Effects Paper:Inspired by the children’s book, Ish, by Peter H. Reynolds

You can see this children’s book being read on this YouTube link

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZKoDRhmWxk

Summary of the story:

In the story, Ish, a little boy named Ramon loves to draw, but loses his

confidence when his picture is laughed at by his older brother. Over and

over he crumples his drawings and tosses them on the floor and is ready

to give up on art. But, his younger sister has been secretly gathering the

crumpled drawings and displays them. She teaches Ramon that art isn’t

about being perfect, but about thinking more -ishly!
