Mrs Brown is currently working with a selection of other teachers from the diocese who are developing a plan to provide a continuity of learning for students in the event that they are temporarily unable to attend school. Your support and cooperation during this time is greatly appreciated.

CWA Public Speaking The CWA Central Western Public Speaking Contest for 2020 has been cancelled. However, we will still have students compete at a school level as it is a very useful assessment tool for the teachers. This means that the Primary Students (Years 3-6) can select their topic from any year level. The contest will be held at school in Term 2. More information regarding the competition will be given next week. Moorambilla Voices Moorambilla Voices have of course cancelled all activities for 2020.

Compass Reminder On Monday all students were sent home with information regarding the Compass Parent Portal that is being used by all schools in the Bathurst Diocese. Parents have been issued with user names and passwords and the process is easy. On the Portal you will be able to access the weekly School Newsletter, Student Reports and attendance data. You will also be able enter explanations for your child’s absence.

NAPLAN Practice Test On Monday the Year 3 & 5 students will undertake an online NAPLAN Practise Test. All students across the nation will complete the test at 12noon. It is not to assess the students, but rather to test the online platform to ensure it can handle the large number of students accessing it. This will ensure readiness for NAPLAN in May. Power Outage St Columba’s will have a power outage next Tuesday for the whole day. Please ensure you send your child with lunches that will not require heating. Thank you.

Thursday 9th April – Book Fair, Easter Liturgy & Eggshibition

Kind regards

Glen Brown Principal
