The engine selection GeEV CUMMINS ISL 250 8.9 L inside the range available in Tier 4 was made to be
a next-generation engine that incorporates the latest advances in technology and efficiency, besides being
the equivalent in performance to the diesel used to now.
Advantages over the lower engine in the Cummins range:
Cummins Westport BG-230 5.9 L:
-Weakness in terms of torque for the application, 678 N / m Vs 990 N / m
-Mayor ratio CV / liter of displacement, goes against engine durability, 230/5.9 250/8.9 Vs estimated 50%
difference between the two models on behalf the 250 8.9 L ISL GeEV
-Increased fuel consumption because it is a lean-burn technology starting 5% less efficient and works at
a higher speed range.
-Intervals shorter in both oil, filters, spark plugs and valve adjustment
