Water while flowing through the meter activates an internal paddle to spin so as to measure the

volume of water consumed. But water also has an inherent volume of air in it which is also

measured when measuring the volume of water as there is no mechanism to distinguish water

from air. As a result, users end up paying for air as they pay for water. Another problem with the

water systems is that they are delivered at varying pressures opening/closing for fixtures like

sprinklers, toilet sinks, etc. When this pressure rate drops, air fills in to create more volume and

increase the flow. This causes the paddle to spin more and increases your water bill. Many

water users also receive water supply at pressures above 65 psi. This mismatch between the

rated pressure and the actual pressure results in over consumption. Pressure reducers are

The TeraValve water conservation valve is based on fluid dynamics. The device compresses
