ment Centre in Weissach, Germany

– from design through to approval.

Wheels

Wheels provide the direct connec-

tion with the road. Our wheels

have been developed using the

same principle by which we devel-

op our vehicles: form following

function. All the wheels for the

new Cayenne model range have

undergone a restyling. We’ve also

further improved our tyres, for

better driving performance and

handling and reduced rolling re-

sistance and weight. In this way,

they can provide the necessary

basis for improved fuel economy

and, of course, increased driving

pleasure.

Note on the use of winter tyres

Summer tyres provide optimum

performance at ambient tempera-

tures above approximately +7 °C.

Below this point, the tyre com-

pound begins to harden and braking

distances are increased. We there-

fore recommend that you fit winter

tyres during the colder months of

the year. Only then can you enjoy

the highest standards of driving

safety from your Cayenne. All win-

ter tyres approved by Porsche are

identified by an ‘N’ designation on

the sidewall.

nications and audio centre.

PCM with navigation module

and CD/DVD autochanger

The central information and com-

munication system with a 7-inch

WVGA TFT colour touchscreen is

easy to operate. The radio has an

FM dual tuner frequency diversity

with RDS. The CD/DVD drive

plays CDs and audio DVDs and is

MP3-compatible. Audio playback

of video DVDs is also supported.

The GPS navigation system has a

hard drive containing map data for

most European countries. Other

features include dynamic route

calculation, a 3D map display and

automatic route recording.

Universal audio interface

For vehicles with PCM, the centre

console storage compartment will

contain two connections: an AUX

interface for connecting an exter-

nal audio source, and a USB port

enabling you to connect a USB

memory stick containing MP3

tracks, an MP3 player, an iPod® or

an iPhone®. The USB stick, iPod®

PCM with navigation module and CD/DVD autochanger

or iPhone® can be operated

conveniently via PCM, the multi-

function steering wheel or the

voice control system.

For vehicles with the CDR-31 audio

system, the centre console stor-

age compartment will contain

an AUX interface for connecting

a compatible audio source. The

volume is adjusted using the con-

trols on the CDR-31 audio system,

other functions are operated using

the controls on the external audio

source itself.

The optional electronic logbook

enables automatic recording of

mileage, route distance, date and

time, starting point and destina-

tion as part of every journey. Once

you have downloaded the logbooks

from the PCM via Bluetooth® or

the optional USB interface, the

data can be evaluated on your

either the hands-free facility or

the optionally available cordless

handset. Alternatively, the

Bluetooth® capability of a mobile

phone can be used to make calls

through the SIM Access Profile

Mobile phone preparation1

To enable a Bluetooth® connection

for those mobile phones that only

support the Handsfree Profile (HFP),

an optional hands-free facility is

available. With HFP, the PCM acts

merely as a hands-free system and

can be used to control only the

basic functions of the phone. The

GSM connection is established

through the aerial of the mobile

phone.

ically triggered if the car is stolen

or tampered with, or after notifi-

cation from the vehicle owner. In

addition to the extra security of-

fered by this system, it may also,

depending on the country, reduce

your insurance premium. The sys-

adapted to fully meet Porsche

The luggage compartment offers

Cargo liners are available to pro-

tect it from dirt, and the luggage

net keeps your belongings in one

Thanks to the intelligent roof

transport systems from Porsche

Tequipment, your vehicle can

carry bulky items of luggage, as

well as skis, snowboards, surfboards

or even boats.

Food and drinks are best kept in

the cool box. Your Cayenne, on

As far as safety is concerned, your

Cayenne, like any other Porsche,

is uncompromising. This is partic-

ularly true when it comes to the

well-being of our youngest passen-

gers. The child seats from Porsche

Tequipment offer a high level of

safety and are also very comforta-

ble. After all, we believe that every

occupant should be able to enjoy

the comfort afforded by a Cayenne.

Porsche child seats

Porsche child seats meet the

latest safety standards. Specially

designed, tested and approved

for Porsche cars, they provide

protection and comfort to pas-

sengers up to 12 years of age.

The fabrics are breathable,

hypoallergenic and easy to clean

with a removable and washable

cover in black and grey with a

contrasting red trim. The outer

rear seats and front passenger

seat in the Cayenne are equipped

with ISOFIX preparation as stand-

ard. These mounting points can

be used to secure any Porsche

ISOFIX child seat easily and safely.

Alternatively, all Porsche child

seats can be secured using the

standard three-point seat belts.

For extra safety, the Porsche

Baby and Porsche Junior Seat

ISOFIX have an independent

five-point belt system.
