Teoría del Campo Cristal
La noción básica de la Teoría del Campo Cristal fue
desarrollada por Bethe en 1929 como una
aplicación de la mecánica cuántica.
Penney, Schlapp y Van Vleck reconocieron la aplicación de esta idea en las propiedades espectrales y magnéticas de los complejos de metales de transición.

campo ligando Las bases de la teoría del campo cristal y del campo ligando se
encuentran en las propiedades del conjunto de los 5 orbítales d.
La teoría del campo ligando permite correlacionar las propiedades físicas de los compuestos de coordinación con la naturaleza y la posición de los ligandos alrededor del ion central.
