Advanced Fire Protection Other Passive Fire Protection Products

Fire Barriers for Ventilated Cladding Cladding systems are designed with an air cavity

that acts like an open chimney to provide back

ventilation. However, in a fire situation this chim-

ney effect creates an open path for the spread of

fire. The FF109 VFB maintains the back

ventilation in normal conditions, but, in the event

of fire, quickly expand to seal off the cavity.

Fire Stop Blocks TENMAT's FF108 Fire Stop Block is a unique,

compressible and fully intumescent alternative to

traditional fire stop pillows.

The Fire Stop Block can be supplied in up to

1 meter lengths and then be cut to size on site,

to ensure maximum flexibility and minimum

wastage.

Recessed lights in ceilings are widely used in residential and commercial buildings.

Each ceiling is subject to fire regulations and where applicable the ceiling

My light is IC rated. Doesn’t that mean it is already fire rated?

No! IC–rated fixtures are designed and tested for direct contact with

insulation, but are by themselves poor flame barriers. Most IC

fixtures are made either from light sheet metal or aluminum that

breaks down rapidly when in direct contact with fire. While IC-rated

lights are just constructed to be used in insulated ceilings, fire rated

lights and covers are required by the code and serve as a fire -

barrier in the event of a fire. TENMAT Fire Rated Light Covers

are also approved for use in conjunction with IC-rated lights and will maintain the fire rating

of the ceiling.
