3Ten years of public space in London: what lessons for the future?
Paul Harper
Area Regeneration Manager, GLA
Paul develops and implements programmes and projects which promote urban regeneration and economic growth across London. He has in depth knowledge of place making. This includes experience in urban design, area frameworks and master plans, but also how to practically deliver high quality projects. He has worked in the GLA family for ten years, initially for the Architecture and Urbanism Unit, then Design for London and most recently the Regeneration Team. The improvement of public spaces in London has been a constant theme in his work at the GLA. @LDN_gov
Pat Brown Director, Central
Pat’s advisory and non-executive work spans disciplines, sectors and geographies. The common thread is connecting: ideas, issues, places, people and ambition, focused mainly on achieving positive change and better experiences for people. She chairs London Festival of Architecture, and is Deputy Chair of Mayor’s Design Advisory Group and British Property Federation’s Development Committee. She sits on National Trust and First Great Western’s advisory boards. She works in New York, including as adviser to Times Square Alliance and NYU’s Schack Institute of Real Estate. @patricialondon
Nicola Ibbotson Architect, DSDHA
Nicola joined DSDHA in 2011. Since then she has worked on residential and landscape schemes and is currently the project architect on the “West End Project – Transforming the Tottenham Court Road Area”, a major urban design proposal for Camden Council. Nicola is also a Unit Tutor at the Cass School of Architecture in London, where she teaches diploma design unit 11. @IbbotsonNic
Victor Callister
Assistant Director - Environmental Enhancement, City of London
Victor is the Assistant Director of Environmental Enhancement for the City of London, where the emphasis is creating the highest possible quality of environment for people in the limited and complex space between buildings. Victor manages a team of professional Town Planners and Project Managers, who deliver projects in partnership with City businesses, usually with complex funding arrangements. Many of these projects are delivering on the security needs of the City, but without compromising environmental quality or movement around the Square Mile. Current work is focusing on integrating tall buildings (including the tallest in Europe) in to the already densely developed districts of the City. @cityoflondon

TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE REMARKABLE PLACES WE MANAGE
Our portfolio includes much of London’s thriving public realm. We bring over 25 years’ experience and a flexible management approach to balance the interests of owners, occupiers and the local community.
For us, a successful mixed-use destination has enlivened public spaces, with a vibrant events programme. Ultimately, it’s about creating a sense of place.
