    Nothing can match the feeling of seeing the numerous rainbows that flash in and out of sight as water

    droplets momentarily capture the rays of the Sun, as you stand before one of the most awe-inspiring

    features of the natural world, lost in wonder at the power and beauty of a waterfall. Following are someof the most beautiful waterfalls on Earth:

    10. Jog Falls is the second-highest plunge waterfall in the whole Asia.Jog Falls, made by

    the Sharavathi River are located near Sagar, Karnataka. About 253 m in height, these Falls are a major

    tourist attraction in the locality. These falls are segmented; the water comes down in four distinct

    falls. Even though these falls are spectacular in the monsoon season, beforethe onset of monsoonseason, the Jog Falls are only a pair of thin streams of water trickling down the cliff.

    9. Kaieteur Falls is on the Potaro River, located in Kaieteur National Park. Along with a heavy-volume

    flow, the fall has a steep drop of 251m. According to the World Waterfall Database, Kaieteur is the 26thmost scenic waterfall in the world. Even though its s less popular tourist destination, the Kaietuer Falls

    is definitely one of the most amazing waterfalls.

    8. Gullfoss waterfall is situated in the Canyon of Hvt River in southwest Iceland. The word

    Gullfoss actually means Golden Falls. This two tiered waterfall has a drop of about 32m, and spans the

    whole width of the river. The Gullfoss Falls is the countrys most popular tourist destination for nature

    lovers.

    7. Huangguoshu Waterfall is one of the largest waterfalls in East Asia, located on the Baishui

    River in China; this natural wonder has a drop of 77.8 m and covers a span 101 m wide. The wordHuangguoshu means Yellow Fruit Tree in Chinese. This waterfall is a cascade of many small waterfalls

    located above and below the main fall.

    6. The Horsetail Fall, better known as the The Yosemite Firefall is situated in Yosemite National

    Park in California. Even though this waterfall doesn't flow year round, its wondrous in the spring time

    when the snow from the mountains melts and increases the water flow. The phenomena which makes

    the Horsetail Fall the most unique is that sometimes in month of February, if the weather conditions are

    just right, the setting sun illuminates the waterfall, making it glow like fire, in the shades of orange,

    yellow and red.

    5. Dettifoss waterfall is located in Vatnajkull National Park on the Jkuls Fjllum River in

    Northeast Iceland. It is reputed to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe in terms of volume, having a

    water flow of about 190 m3per second. These falls are 100 m wide and have a height of 45m. Along with

    charming many tourists every year, the beauty of Dettifoss falls compelled famous Director Ridley Scott

    to film some scenes of his movie Prometheus on the bank of this natural wonder.

    4. Victoria Falls is in southern Africa, on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe on the Zambezi

    River. It is called 'Mosi-oa-Tunya meaningthe smoke that thunders in Zambia and Victoria Falls in

    Zimbabwe. It has a width of 1.7 km and a height of 108 m. It is said that Victoria Falls form the largest

    sheet of falling water on the earth.

    3. Niagara Falls is by far the most famous waterfall in North America. It also ranks as the biggestone by volume with an average water flow of about 2.8 million Liters per second. In addition to such

    majestic power, the Niagara Falls is easily one of the easiest to access. It attracts millions of tourists

    every year and is surely a treat for the eyes.

    2. The Godafoss is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. The name Godafoss Falls

    means The waterfalls of the Gods in the local language. It is a 30m wide and 12m tall waterfall on the

    Skjlfandafljt River. This horseshoe-shaped waterfall has an important role in Icelandic history. Hence,

    its a big attraction for both tourists and the local people. The beauty of this waterfall incomparable in

    the winters, when most of the water freezes and leaves a glacial layer on the top.

    1. Iguazu Falls lie of the Iguazu River on the border of Brazil and Argentina. The falls divide the river

    into the upper and lower Iguazu. The name "Iguazu" basically means big water in the regional dialects.

    Iguazu Falls spans a distance of around 2km in width and its average flow of water is 1.3 million liters per

    second. These falls actually consists of some 275 individual waterfalls cascaded, which make it all the

    more awe-inspiring.
