Players will be randomly paired for the first round, and the Swiss ranking system used in subsequent rounds
in order to ensure that players face an opponent of similar standing. Grudges are allowed for Game 1.
Ranking will be based on Tournament points (TP) followed by Victory points (VP) scored as the first tie-
breaker. If required, VPs lost will be used too.
Games 1, 3, 4 & 5 will use Battleplans from the ‘Matched Play’ section randomly determined at the start of
each round (no Battleplan will be played twice). Game 2 will use a custom Battleplan, Smoke & Mirrors.
Each game will last no longer than 2.5hrs. Players should only begin another Battle round if they are sure
that both players will be able to complete their turn during the remaining time.

WHAT TO BRING
Your army and a copy of your full army list to show each opponent.
4 objective markers (mounted on a round base with a diameter between 25mm and 40mm).
A copy of the Age of Sigmar rules and General’s Handbook 2017, including FAQs.
Full Warscroll and Formation rules for your army, these can be paper or electronic via the GW app.
Dice, Tape Measure, Pen, Paper, Glue.
Wound and effect markers.
HOUSE RULES
The Age of Sigmar rules, General’s Handbook 2017 ‘Matched Play’ rules, and most recent Official FAQs and
Erratas will be used.
The following additional house rulings/clarifications are to be used:
All distances between models will be measured from the edge of model’s bases.
Measurements should be made from the centre of objective markers.
All effects from ’Mysterious Landscapes Scenery’ table apply/must be rolled for at the very start of the
Hero phase before Command Abilities or effects apply or any spells are cast.
Models which cannot be attacked or targeted are unable to claim or contest objectives until they come
into play/reveal themselves (e.g. Changeling etc).
The Battle Begins and Sudden Death table from the Age of Sigmar rules will not be used for any games.
TERRAIN
All terrain will be played as Mysterious terrain (from the ‘Mysterious Landscapes Scenery’ table rules).
If existing terrain is not suitably set-up before the start of each game, roll a D6. The winner places the first
piece of scenery. Alternate placements until all pieces are on the board, not within 3” of other terrain or a
table edge. Mysterious terrain should then be rolled for and marked using a counter or otherwise to show
the type. The winner of the roll off then chooses side and who deploys first.
Hills will be treated as open ground, but can block line of sight.
All walls and hedges should use the Warscroll rules for ‘Walls and Fences’.
Any building that has all 4 walls intact can be used as a garrison. Use the ‘Watchtower’ Warscroll rules to
represent this.
Non-GW woods may be used as ‘Sylvaneth Wyldwoods’ provided there are on a same-sized footprint as
Citadel Woods, with an appropriate number of modelled trees.
Individual trees within Forests/Wyldwoods can to be moved during games, only for the purposes of
moving models or units through them.
ARMY SELECTION
This will be an Open List tournament. All lists will be published in the week prior to the event for a bit of fun.
Your army should consist of up to a 2000 point 'Battlehost' chosen from a single Grand Alliance, using the
restrictions detailed in the ‘Pitched Battles’ section of The Generals Handbook 2017.
Any Warscroll (including Forge World) which has official points listed in there may be used. If you are in
doubt please consult a TO.
Your army list must specify Allegiance, General, Command Traits, and any Artefacts or Arcane
Treasures taken (indicated next to the relevant entries).
Allegiance Abilities & Artefacts may be selected rather than rolled for but must remain the same for all
three games.
All units/models must be WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) where possible – if you want to run
a unit of Warpfire Projector Stormfiends they all must have the appropriate model to match!
Any selectable Spells, Prayers and specific Faction options (e.g. FEC Delusions) must be specified in the
army list and cannot change between games.
If there are multiple versions of any Warscroll, the most recent version shall be used.
All army lists need to be submitted by 23:59 on SATURDAY 6th JANUARY 2017.
Please use Warscoll Builder https://www.warhammer-community.com/warscroll-builder/ to write your
army list.
Save/copy the “Short” version of the final list and send it in plain text format in the body of the email to
[email protected] with ‘ARMY LIST - PLAYER NAME’ (e.g. ARMY LIST – SCOTT SMITH) as the subject. This
makes it MUCH easier to process and publish!!
TOURNAMENT POINTS
There will be a maximum of 100 TPs available at the 1-day event, and 150 TPs at the 2-day event.
List Submission by the deadline of 7th Jan 2018 gets you an easy 5 TPs.
Each Game carries a maximum 20 TPs, in a scale 1-20. At the end of each game both players should also
total the Victory Points (VPs) of complete Warscrolls they destroyed and they lost. If you score more VPs
than your opponent in a game, then you earn an extra +1 TP. Also, if you complete your chosen Crusade in a
game, then you earn an extra +2 TP (see next page).
For painting, to gain maximum 15 TPs all models should be painted in an appropriate scheme,
shaded/highlighted and with coherent basing done. All models must be on the appropriate sized
round/oval bases, and all models should be WYSIWYG. No Proxies will be allowed, however alternate
models are OK provided they clearly represent what they are supposed to and are of an appropriate size.
Best Army player voting will take place during the Lunch break. A vote for your army gets you 5 TPs. If your
army receives >1 vote you gain an extra 10 TPs. Only armies painted by the player are eligible, so no
commission painted or borrowed armies count!
At the end of day 1 & day 2 each player will be asked to vote their Best Game of the day. Maybe it was the
game you enjoyed the most, one you learnt most in, or was the most epic. Rank the games 1st, 2nd & 3rd each
day. Each vote you receive gets you additional TPs to a max of 10 TPs (1-day) or 20 TPs (2-day).

CRUSADES
Pick one Crusade before the start of each game. Note it down, but keep it secret from your opponent.
If you complete it, you will earn an extra 2 TPs.
Each Crusade may only be selected once. Record the chosen Crusade for each game in the Results sheet.
1. Disrupt the Chain
Destroy more of your opponents Leader units than you lose during the game.
2. Bring me their Head!
Kill the enemy General.
3. Thin the Masses…
Destroy more of your opponent’s Battleline units than you lose during the game.
4. Defend the King!
Your General must survive until the end of the game.
5. Seize and Hold.
Nominate a terrain piece in your opponent’s territory.
You must seize this terrain before the start of the 4th Battle Round AND hold it until the end of the game.
To seize it you must have more models within 3” of it than your opponent. You may move away from the
terrain piece and still keep control of it, unless your opponent seizes it back.
6. Slay the Beast!
Nominate a Monster in your opponent’s army. You must kill this by the end of the 4th Battle Round.
BATTLEPLAN in the Realm of Ulgu
GAME 2 – Smoke and Mirrors Malerion has grown more frustrated and furious during his time trapped in the Realms of Ulgu. The distant
sound of battle has piqued his interest….perhaps there are some games the once Witch King can play with
these unfortunate souls. Three prizes await these fools on the battlefield, but only two shall remain. And dare
they traverse the Realms of Ulgu in their futlile quest for victory…?
SETUP & TRIUMPHS : As per GHB2017 battleplans (p80-85). Models must be set up in their own territory,
more than 12” from enemy territory.
VICTORY: A player controls an objective if at the end any turn if they have a unit of 20 or more models
within 6” of it and the enemy does not, or failing that, if they have more models from their army within 6” of
it than there are enemy models within 6” of it. A unit can only help to control one objective at a time; if it
could help to control more than one, the player commanding the unit picks which one it helps to control.
At the end of each of your turns you score a number of Shadow Points equal to the current Battle round for
each objective you control. For example, if you control an objective at the end of the fourth Battle round
you score 4 Shadow Points for it.
At the start of the third Battle Round, roll a D6 to determine which objective Malerion removes from the
battlefield! On a roll of 1-2 objective 1 disappears, on a roll of 3-4 objective 2 disappears, on a roll of 5-6
objective 3 disappears.
The player with the most Shadow Points at the end of the fifth Battle Round (or when the allocated time
runs out) wins a Major Victory. If players are tied at the end of the game, the player that gained the most
Victory Points (complete Warscrolls destroyed, including any summoned units) wins a Minor Victory.

Realm of Ulgu Special Rules (GAME 2 only)
The Shadow Realms
The edges of the battlefield are shrouded in shadow, and lead to a strange nether world.
Once per Player turn, when you move a model or unit you can move it off a long table edge and into the
Shadow Realm. If you do this roll a D6 and consult the table below. This D6 roll cannot be modified, rerolled
or predetermined in any way (e.g. from Destiny Dice).
D6 Effect
1 The model/unit becomes lost in the Shadow Realm and is never
seen again. The model/unit is considered slain.
2-3 The model/unit is setup touching the opposite edge directly
across from the point at which it exited the table (i.e. closest
point on the opposite table edge). The model/unit cannot
continue its move.
4-6 The model/unit is setup touching the opposite edge directly
across from the point at which it exited the table (i.e. closest
point on the opposite table edge). The model/unit can continue
its move.
Models in a unit must be setup in the same orientation and at least 3” away from any enemy models. If
enemy models prevent this setup, this special move may not be attempted.
Mystifying Miasma
WIZARDS know use this spell in addition to any others they know. Mystifying Miasma has a casting value of
4. If successfully cast, select a visible enemy unit within 18” of the caster. The opposing player must subtract
3” from run and charge rolls for that unit until the caster’s next Hero phase. Casting this spell more than
once on any unit has no additional/cumulative effect.
