Tell Me a Story

This activity is designed to help you learn how to tell a story that has:

Beginning / Middle / End

Deals with a central problem or plot

Uses sensory or descriptive language

Let’s try itAnswer these questions about the painting:• Give the people in the picture names.• Describe their clothes. Use at least one

simile or metaphor; for example, “His shirt was like…”

• Use three words to describe the personalities of each person.

• Where are they? Name the city, the building, the country, etc.

• What happened just before this picture was “taken”?

• What’s going on now?• What happened just after the picture was

“taken”?

Now, put your answers together into a short story with a beginning, middle

and end.
