• IT services are provided by an external contractors• Services include helpdesk, network management,

database administration, engineering, analytics & reporting, development, etc• Pre 2009 – laboratories and small number of laptop

trolleys• 2010 – 1:2 laptop trolleys then in 2011 – 1:1

program/DER• In 2015:

• P-4 iPads (1:1 at school)• 5-6 MacAir(1:1 take home)• 7 – 12 BYOD, mixture of Mac and Windows (min.

specs, no iPads)• Multi-Media Mac Laboratory

Remote Access & Telepresence • Double is not the only

solution available, but most cost effective

• Excellent for testing use cases and engaging students and teachers in thinking “outside of the box”

Use Case 1 – Later Years

• Student unable to attend after school holidays due to flights home cancelled because of volcanic eruption in Bali.

• Attended first week of school viathe Double

• Attended VCE classes• Connect via mobile phone using

hotel Wi-Fi

Use Case 2 – Middle Years

• Middle years student unable to attend due to illness.

• Attend school via the Double using a College supplied device.

• Remotely attend English and Math classes for one week

• Socialised with friends during homeroom and morning tea

• Connected via Mac Air using Chrome Browser using home Wi-Fi

Use Case 3 – Open Day

• Virtual Tours • College open day students and

parents used the Double to view early years campus

• Connected via Windows laptop over College Intranet

• Displayed connection via external screen

• Students and parents quickly learnt how to use the Double with very little assistance
