The two options are 6- month student visa and 12 -month student visa. Once you get it, you can live and study here in Madrid for 6 or 12 months and you have also the chance to extend it for more time.

So, how to get a student visa?. ITTI Madrid works with Academia contacto, a Spanish schoool accredited by the Spanish authorities. If you study Spanish for a minimum hours you can get the visa and you can also teach English part time. The first week

During the first week you study the theory of teaching English as a foreign language, you also start knowing how to manage and plan a class. You will learn how to make a lesson plan, different teaching techniques, which materials to use.

Our course has theory and practice. We want you to know the four skills you will have to teach your future students: reading, speaking, listening and writing. We are going to review grammar and phonetics.

The programmeOur TEFL course is intensive you will be in the school from 10 am to 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday. You will also have coursework and assignemnts at home.

We combine your lessons in the morning and the practice in the afternoon. Besides you will get special courses to learn how to teach Cambridge exams (very fashionable in Spain) and teaching children.

The third and fourth week

The second week

In the second week you start teaching. We are going to provide you with students of all levels. There will be six teaching classes, while you teach you will have an observer (an experienced teacher) who will give you feedback about your teaching. To prepare the classes you will have a lot of books, games, videos, cds to choose from our library.

We have wifi and our own computers but you can bring yours if you want to.

Our graduates are working in the best schools in Madrid and they also work for the “auxiliares de conversación programme” of Madrid hall. They work in La Caixa, Mc Donalds, Ministry of Health, Burkert, Talgo, Sabadell bank, etc.



Jobs

Where our teacher teach

As we are an English academy as well as a TEFL school, we are offering jobs to the best 3 teachers of September-October-January. During the year you will be our first option when looking for teachers. Apart from that we are helping you to make your resume and we will help you to find the best agencies and schools to find a job.

There is no problems to find a job as a teacher if you are a native teacher. You can work for private schools, academies, public schools and companies, you can also work freelance.

Permission to workAs a student you have the right to apply to get a permission to work in Madrid. You can only work for a maximum of 20 hours per week. We are going to help you to get all the paperwork done to be a eligible candidate.

We know that coming to a different country is hard so as we want you to enjoy the experience we want also to help you find a place to live. Our Spanish school (Academia contacto) has a lot of different options of accommodation to offer you. So before coming here we will show you the different options and you can choose. If you don’t like any we can also help you find an apartment using the best websites in Madrid to do so.

If you prefer us to help you find a place for the first 4 weeks, here you have the possibilities:

Spanish familyLiving with a host families is the best opportunity to experience the Spanish way of life. You will improve your knowledge of Spanish while making new friends! All families have internet connection at home. If you need a special diet, just let us know. You can also tell us if you prefer a family with or without children, with or without other students, non-smoking, etc

Shared flatWe offer rooms in full equipped shared flats in the center of town. You can choose between single and double rooms. You will share the kitchen, bathroom and living room. We have flats where one or two Spaniards live and flats with just students. If you have a preference please tell us! All flats have internet connection. There are no extra costs: electricity, water, internet etc are included in the price.

ApartmentIf you prefer your independence, we recommend accommodation in a centrally located individual apartment.

So, how to apply to my TEFL?

1. Email [email protected] and notify us that you want to submit an application

2. We will answer your email in 24 hours and we will send you an application form 3. We will contact you to have a telephone interview

4. If you are accepted, we will start the process of your paperwork

5. You pay the 20% of the cost of the course

6. Academia Contacto will send you the letter of acceptance, accommodation letter and any other paperwork and assistance you may need in order to get your student visa

7. With the documents we send you, you have to submit your application to your Spanish Consulate

8. Buy your flight ticket 9. Come to Madrid and start your adventure
