Is IT Worth The Risk?

Introduction to Lesson

It is very important to explore the serious issue of teenage drinking and its potential fatal outcome. Students will view a video created by 2 parents who lost their two daughters (age 15 and 17) on the same night due to underage drinking and driving. The video is graphic in nature, vividly displaying how their vehicle landed upside down entangled in telephone pole wires. The video is also mature and authentic in that it captures the innocence of the lone survivor and how she didn't think the driver was impaired, suddenly realizing that she was unable to use good judgment at the time due to her own consumption.
