How I do TED Talks.
Step 1: Posting link and assignment on our Canvas website (posted by teacher).Step 2: Students then must watch TED Talk.Step 3: Discussion (or quiz) post follows to ensure student participated (posted by teacher).
Step 1: Post it!
Step 2: Watch it!
Step 3: Discuss it!
SAMR Model Level- Augmentation• Why is this the Augmentation level?• Allows students to get instant feedback from me as well as their
peers. • By choosing to make them have to initially post first before they
can see peer responses, I have ensured that they have their own judgments before looking at their peers.
• I can see easily who understood the concept at hand, thus rectifying the discussion if needed.
• Using TED talks for a means of discussion and Canvas as a means of communication is a direct tools substitute.
• It changes the curriculum a bit in making it a student-driven discussion with me chiming in only when warranted.
