In today’s society we are seeing children being taught how to use a keyboard just a couple of years after they have learned to

handwrite.

We are now seeing children learn how to type rather than learning how to write in cursive.

There has been an increase over the years in the creation of software that teaches children how to type in a game like fashion.

Children are not only being exposed to less handwriting but being taught in way that typing can be like a game, further increasing children’s interest in typing rather than writing in the traditional

form.

More than before, schools are introducing a new class called technology. In this class, computers are the only device used.

Students learn to type faster, make powerpoints and create short films.

This class is seen as an enhancement of education because the children are actively involved in their education and the teacher is no longer the center of attention- allowing them to facilitate than bore the children with lectures.

Because the students are making these decisions and working by themselves it actually increases their satisfaction with their work, therefore increasing their motivation to do well.
