With Sony’s ‘Playstation 3’ you can:
• Play games• Watch films, including ‘Blu-ray’• Access the internet to browse,
play games online and download games, extra game features and upgrades, music, videos and films
• Upload videos and photos and create slideshows
The ‘Playstation 3’ also has various accessories to broaden horizons like varieties of gamepads, keypad attachments, remotes, cameras or ‘Playstation eye’, headsets and USB attachments. Most of these accessories are wireless thanks to inbuilt ‘Bluetooth’.
All these wide variety of media features in one
device is an example of
media convergence.
• With the ‘Playstation 3’ you can play your CDs and rip them to save onto
the hard disk drive. • Or, using the USB port, attach a music
device to transfer music to it. • Download music files or music videos
from the internet.• Music can be used to put on photo
slideshows.
• Use any internet music downloading site to get music. ‘Playstation 3’ also has ‘iTunes’ now.
• Songs from ‘iTunes cost somewhere roughly around £0.65 to £1.00.
Original problems with the ‘Playstation 3’ have been lack of upscaling, overheating and a lack of backwards compatibility to PS1 and PS2 games. However, the PS3 is a relatively new device and errors are fixed with time and upgraded models like the PS3 ‘slim’.
