CAPACITY BUILDING OF TRADE OFFICIALS AND PRACTITIONNERS IN THE AREA OF E-COMMERCE
UNCTAD is implementing a project funded by the United Nations Development Account for development in order to accelerate progress in the countries of West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Senegal and Togo) in achieving the development goals agreed at international level, in particular MDG 8, through training and capacity building using distance learning tools related to trade.
This project will be the experiments field of our intervention and demo.
ANALYSIS FIELD MISSION
A mission was commissioned in 8 countries to: qualify training sites, ensure Internet connectivity, help identify tutors on a predefined profilesupport ministries in the designation of a
focal point for the activity.
TRAINING ORGANIZATION
179 french speaking + 41 english speaking registered on 'Legal Aspects of e-Commerce’.
The overall duration was 5 weeks (4 hours per week), 1 chat / forum weekly, 1-2 tests per weeka regional face-to-face will be held in
February 2014 FR (Dakar - SENEGAL)
March 2014 EN (Accra - GHANA)
TRAINING OUTCOME & ANALYSIS For francophone, more than 100 out of 179 participants attended the course to
the end and got the certificate.
Very good result for the countries that have benefited from a mission analysis and training of tutors
Average scores for countries with only tutors
Poor scores for countries without tutors or mission analysis.
Consequently, the strategy implemented by TFT is a good practice and has paid off! - Nigeria has asked for a mobile version of the course, which has been achieved.
- Mali has requested video conference to keep face to face distance, which will be implemented.
All teaching materials has been designed around a Moodle LMS which we hope changes in the future with regard to the new requirements of flexibility, mobility of learners distributed and more important.
