Offshore

In the Offshore business segmentTechnip performs engineering,procurement, construction,installation, commissioning and therefurbishment/upgrading of offshorefacilities for the oil & gas industry.

Technip provides these services forfixed platforms in shallow water withconventional sub-structures and selfinstalling platforms such as the TPG500 and for deepwater facilitiesincluding Spar, semi-submersible, TLP,FPSO and FLNG units. Technip is aworld leader in floatover installationof topsides and its R&D effort isfocused on technology transfer forlocal content and new frontier areassuch as ultra-deepwater and the Arctic.

Onshore

Technip covers the full range ofonshore facilities for the oil and gaschain, petrochemicals and otherenergy industries (nuclear,renewables including biofuels andoffshore wind). It holds manyproprietary cutting-edgetechnologies and is the leader in thedesign and construction of LNG andgas treatment plants as well asethylene, hydrogen and syngas units.

Technip is also one of the key actorsin refining and petrochemical units,and has developed a leadership inthe fertilizer industry. Moreover, theGroup is very active in non-energyactivities such as mining and metals,life sciences, buildings andinfrastructures.

Subsea

In subsea hydrocarbon fielddevelopment, Technip’s activitiesinclude the design, manufacture andinstallation of rigid and flexible subseapipelines and umbilicals. Thanks to itsportfolio of technologies and industrialand operational assets, Technip offers aunique vertically integrated model inthe industry.

The Group has 3 flexible pipemanufacturing plants, 4 umbilicalproduction units, 9 logistics andpipeline assembly bases, and 1construction yard. Technip’s worldwideleadership is supported by a modernfleet of vessels for subsea construction,pipelay development (rigid and flexiblepipes using S-Lay, J-Lay or Reeledtechnology) and heavy lift applications.

The world’s 4th largest natural gas reserves

Turkmenistan holds substantial oil resources and vast natural gas reserves in itssoil. The country possesses the world’s fourth-largest natural gas reserves.

Gas production is the most dynamic and promising sector of the nationaleconomy. Economic growth, driven primarily by the energy sector, has hoveredabove 10% per annum in recent years.

Taking our presence further in Turkmenistan

Technip has been carrying out projects in Turkmenistan for many years. In thelast 15 years, we have delivered several turnkey contracts in this country, in theoil and gas sector, as well as in non-energy related industries.

We are currently carrying out the Turkmenistan Block 1 project, an offshore gasfield development in the Caspian Sea.

We have had a permanent presence in Turkmenistan since 1996. In 2010, we created Technip Turkmenistan, with offices in Ashgabat and Kiyanli.

Gas treatmentTechnip has delivered many world-scale gas treatment complexes:plants for the removal of CO2 andsulphur components, gas processingand sulphur recovery plants.

Oil refiningTechnip has completed 30 grassrootsrefinery projects and more than 100refinery expansion and upgradeprojects in more than 75 countries. Itis also one of the few engineeringcompanies in the world to haveengineered 10 grassroots refineriessince 1990.

Onshore pipelinesTechnip’s scope of services coversthe entire cycle from early projectdevelopment, to implementation ofEPC projects.

EthyleneTechnip is a world leader in Ethylenetechnology for both grassrootsplants (including mega-crackers) andplant expansions.

Petrochemicals &polyolefinsTechnip has designed and built over400 aromatics units, intermediateproduct units and polymer unitsincluding polyolefin units.

FertilisersTechnip has designed and built morethan 400 fertiliser units. Whetherimplementing its own processes orleading licensed technologies,Technip covers the complete rangeof the fertiliser industry.

In 2004, Petronas Carigali(Turkmenistan) awarded Technipand MMHE a contract for thedevelopment of TurkmenistanBlock 1. Technip and partnerprovided pre-FEED and FEED andis currently finishing the EPCIcontract. Our scope of workunder Block 1 developmentconsists of two wellhead / riserplatforms and an onshore gasterminal.

Within the expansion and upgrading programme ofTurkmenneftegas’ Turkmenbashi refinery on theCaspian Sea, Technip has successfully completed EPCcontracts for the design and construction of severalunits:

2002 - 2006 - New diesel hydrotreater unit1998 - 2001 - Milli Second Catalytic Cracker unit (MSCC)1998 - 2001 - Turkmenbashi refinery modernisation (gasoline production unit and utilities)1996 - 2001 - Lube oil plant

Dragon Oil entrusted Technipwith a contract for the studies ofexisting facilities at the Lam andZhdanov fields.

In 1998, we completed an EPCMcontract for our client,Turkmenneft, for the South-Kamyschldsha Gas Condensatefield development (oil and gasseparator).
