Technical User Guide Congratulations on your purchase of the Identity GateKeeper. You’ve taken the first step in defending your personal information. The Identity GateKeeper protects your passwords in a credit card sized computer in your pocket. Your passwords aren’t stored on your computer; they aren’t stored in the cloud where they can be hacked; they are always stored with you wherever you and Identity GateKeeper go.

Setup is three easy steps:

1. Charge your Card 2. Install Software 3. Run Wizard Setup

WARNING The card is in pairing mode from the factory. If you do not complete the pairing of the card with a device and take it off the charging cable,, it will remain in pairing mode until the battery dies. If you do not want to complete the setup process, remove from the charging cable, and hold the button for 8 seconds to power off the card. You can always re-attach to the USB charging cable at anytime to finish the setup.

Your Identity GateKeeper Card

NOTE When the card goes to sleep, all lights will be off and it’s removed from charging cable. This is the same when the card is powered off. Anytime you connect to the card, it will wake up and the yellow light will be solid. Then it will go back to sleep. If you are not sure the card is powered on, just press the power button one time and the yellow light will appear.

Power Button The power button turns your Identity GateKeeper card on and off. Yellow LED The Yellow LED blinks steady when the card is connected and being

used. It turns off when card goes to sleep, assuming not connect to charging cable. The Yellow LED blinks rapidly when the card is in pairing mode.

Blue LED The Blue LED indicates when the USB Charging cable is properly

attached to the card. Red LED The Red LED indicates charging status. When the LED is blinking the

card is charging. When the LED is on solid the card is fully charged.

Step 1 – Charge Your Card Your Identity GateKeeper is a credit card sized computer and it needs power in order to connect to your Windows device. Follow the steps below to charge your Identity GateKeeper for the first time.

● Remove the card and included USB cable from the packaging. ● Connect the magnet end of the USB cable to the rear of the card as shown in Figure 1

listed below. You want to connect the charger on the back of the card where the metal pad is. The polarity of magnet ensures that the charger can only attach to the card as shown in Figure 1.

● Connect the USB-A connector into any USB power source such as a computer, powered hub, or cell phone power adapter .

● The small red LED on the card will blink while charging. When charging is complete, the LED will turn solid RED.

● Leave the USB cable plugged in until your card is paired with your computer. We will cover pairing your Identity GateKeeper in the next section.

Figure 1

Figure 5

Page 17: Technical User Guide - · PDF fileYour Identity GateKeeper Card 5 Step 1 ... card with a device and take it off the charging cable,, it will remain

The first step in creating a new entry is to give it a descriptive name. This will help you easily find the entry if you need to edit it later. Figure 6 shows an example for storing a set of credentials. Enter your username, password, the URL to the website and any notes for the account – like the answers to your security questions should you need to further authenticate your account.

Figure 6

Page 18: Technical User Guide - · PDF fileYour Identity GateKeeper Card 5 Step 1 ... card with a device and take it off the charging cable,, it will remain

Updating an Entry From time to time you will need to update your password for a website. You can update the login and password information you have stored in the Identity GateKeeper via the Entries menu of the Identity GateKeeper program. Select Edit ->View/Edit Entry to make a change.

Working with Groups

Creating a Group How you organize your Identity GateKeeper is up to you - leave everything at the root directory or break things down into groups. Once you’ve gone to Edit-> Add Group (as shown in Figure 9 below) you’ll be able to give your group a name, put in notes, select an icon for your group, or allow your group to expire. Once all of the settings have been selected, press OK to continue. Once the group is created you can drag entries from the root directory into your newly created group.

Figure 9

Figure 10

Page 20: Technical User Guide - · PDF fileYour Identity GateKeeper Card 5 Step 1 ... card with a device and take it off the charging cable,, it will remain

Editing a Group You can always change the settings for your group, the ones you set in Figure 9 (above) by going to Edit > Edit Group.

Figure 11

Deleting a Group You can delete a group via the Edit Menu, Edit ->Delete Group. Don’t worry; if you delete a group you won’t lose the entries immediately. Identity GateKeeper creates a new group called Recycling Bin that stores your deleted groups. You can “undelete” groups or entries that are in those groups by dragging the entries or groups out of the Recycling Bin and back to the root directory.

The Battery Your Identity GateKeeper has a rechargeable battery. It can take approximately 1-2 hour to charge the battery fully. How often you will need to recharge the battery will be completely dependent on how often you use your card. Typically the card will need charging every 3-4 days. You will need to recharge it more often with heavier usage or less often with light usage.

Bluetooth Range Your Identity GateKeeper needs to be relatively close to your Windows device in order to work. Bluetooth transmission range will vary with temperature, humidity and other electronic sources that could interfere with the signal.

Troubleshooting

Unable to Pair When you initiate Pairing Mode (see the Quick Start Guide earlier in the manual), it can some take an extended period of time to appear in the Bluetooth discover list on your Mac. Put the card in pairing mode by holding the button down for 4 seconds. Usually the CYBERGATE Bluetooth connection will appear in your discovery list rather quickly, but sometimes it can take several minutes.

If you still can’t seem to initiate pairing with your Identity GateKeeper, remove the charging cable and hold down the button for 8 seconds. This will power the card off. Re-attach the charging cable and reinitiate the pairing process. Your last and final resort is initiating a factory reset. Leave the card on the charging cable and hold the button down for at least 8 seconds and you will see both lights flashing indicating a reinstallation of the firmware. This will delete all passwords on the card. Unknown Issue If the software reports an unknown issue, first try powering the card off and back on again. Remove the card from the charging cable and hold the button down for 8 seconds. This will power the card off. Reattach the charging cable and try to initiate the pairing process again. Your last and final resort is initiating a factory reset. Leave the card on the charging cable and hold the button down for at least 8 seconds and you will see both lights flashing indicating a reinstallation of the firmware. Reinstallation of the firmware does not erase your password data on the card

Disclaimers There is a potential for data loss stored on the card. You agree that you have made the necessary backups of your data so that, in the event of such loss, the data can be restored.

It is the customer’s responsibility to file a claim with the shipping carrier and instruct BluStor concerning what to do with the damaged product. If BluStor has not received notification or response from the customer within 30 days, the item will be discarded.) Step 3 – Refunds Once the returned item has been received and verified to have all original contents and packaging and confirmed to be in new condition and free of damage, modification, or been worn, a refund will be issued. Customers will be refunded via the same method in which the item was purchased. Refunds are normally processed and issued within 3 days of receipt of the returned merchandise. Please note that it may take your credit card company an additional 3-4 days to process the refund. There will be no refund given for items that have been damaged by the customer or returned incomplete. (Please do not request a charge back from your credit card company during the return process. Due to the time, it takes to resolve charge back disputes, it is better to be patient and wait for the return process to run its course. If a charge back has been submitted, we will not be able to credit you for your return until the charge back until mediation process has been completed. This process can take up to 180 days.)
