1. CRANE CONTROL

1.1 The crane is controlled by a portable remote control box, equipped withjoysticks, display showing actual hookload, actual outreach and allowable load at the actual outreach, start/stop buttons, emergency stop button, pilot light for common alarm, selector switches for the 3 different lifting conditions and for selecting hoisting on one, two or three wirerope parts. The remote control box may be plugged into a socket at the open control platform on the side of the crane house, or alternatively into a socket on the pedestal at the deck level.

A start/stop button incl. emergency stop is mounted at the platform for use in case of emergency operation. Selector switch for remote / local operation at control cabinet mounted inside the crane house.

The crane have selector switch for 1 or 2 wire rope parts on the control cabinet inside the crane house..

Emergency operation in case of non-functioning remote control may be performed directly on the main hydraulic valve that is mounted inside the crane house. Note that the electronic load limiting system is not functioning during emergency operation. The crane can therefore lift loads limited only by the hydraulic pressure setting on the winch and on the hydraulic cylinders. Accordingly, great care must be exercised during these operations to see that the loads on the crane are within the limitations as given on the load diagram.

All motions have stepless speed control from 0 to max. Two motions may be operated at the same time with full capacity, but with reduced speed.

2. SAFETY SYSTEMS

2.1 Load Limiting system The main hydraulic circuit is protected by relief valves. The crane is equipped with a load cell that gives the weight of the load in the hook, and transmitters giving the luffing angle of the main jib, and the angle between the two jibs. The signals are received in the PLS which will calculate the allowed load at the actual outreach. If the lifted load is higher than allowed, motions will stop. Motions into safe area is allowed, and also lowering of the load. Alarms on the display will show when the lifted load is 90% of the allowable load, and the system will stop movement when the load is 110% of allowable load.

2.3 Hook stop The hook movement will be automatically stopped in top and bottom position by electrically operated limit switches.

2.4 Luffing stop The luffing cylinder is stopped by limit switches in the extreme positions.

2.7 Fail Safe Brakes Both winch gear and slewing gears are provided with fail-safe disc brakes. The brakes are spring operated and pressure released.

2.8 Load holding valves Winch motor, hydraulic cylinder and slewing motor are all provided with load holding valves that will stop the movement in case of hose rupture or other failure causing pressure drop.

2.09 Emergency stop An Emergency Stop switch is located on the portable remote control. An additional Emergency Stop switch is located on the crane house at the operators platform to be used during emergency operation.

2.10 Control levers Control levers are of "spring-cantered" type.

2.11 Safety railing A safety railing is located around the operator platform.

3. MACHINERY

3.1 Slewing machineryThe crane rotates on a ball or roller type slewing ring seated on machined surfaces. The Slewing ring bolts and nuts are made from special steel and tightened to exact tension. The slewing bearings are all provided with internal gear ring. The slewing gearbox with brake and motor are built together to a complete unit.

3.2 Luffing cylinder / knuckle jib cylinder The jib luffing cylinder(s) is designed for marine use with spherical bronze bearings at both ends. Cylinder piston rod is chromium-plated (80my).

3.3 Hoisting machinery consist of: - Grooved drum with roller bearings and brackets. - Winch gear built into the drum with fail safe brake, and hydraulic

motor with flange mounted load holding valve. - Flange mounted electric hook stop.

The wire rope is of LOW-ROTATING type and galvanized. All wire sheaves are provided with roller bearings. All wire sheaves have grease nipple lubrication.

4. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND POWER PACK

4.1 Hydraulic system.The hydraulic system is designed as an open circuit system.

4.2 Hydraulic power pack. The Hydraulic Power Pack consists of an electric motor mounted vertically in the crane house, driving the hydraulic pumps. The hydraulic oil circuit includes full flow return filters with changeable filter inserts.

4.3 Hydraulic oil tank The hydraulic oil tank is integrated into the rotating crane house and is accessible through a hatch. The tank is fitted with drain cock, filter and a combined glass level indicator and temperature gauge on return line. The hydraulic oil is filled into the tank through the return filter.

4.4 Hydraulic oil cooler An electric driven air cooled cooler is installed for cooling the hydraulic oil.

4.5 Hydraulic pipes and hoses All externally mounted pipes are of stainless steel type. Hydraulic fittings are stainless steel, EO 2 type. Hydraulic hoses are suitable for sea environment. Hose sleeves and fittings are zinc plated and is protected by Denso tape. All pressure hoses are tested with 50% overpressure before they are mounted on the cranes.

4.6 Hydraulic oil. The crane is supplied without hydraulic oil. For correct type and amount of oil, please refer to the oil chart.

4.7 Pilot / Emergency aggregate. Aggregate for emergency operation is included. The aggregate to be powered by ships emergency power system.

5. ELECTRIC SYSTEM

5.1 Pump motorThe electric pump motor is of marine type, protection IP56. The motor is provided with anti-condensation heater for 230V and is protected by thermistors.

5.2 Electric Starter A Star/delta type starter, IP 55 enclosure, is mounted in the crane house. The starter has the following features: - Hour-counter - Motor Space heater - Thermistor overload protection relay.

- Selector switch for remote / local operation. Local control during emergency operation only.

5.3 Remote start/stop box A remote start/stop box is mounted at the open control platform, with the following equipment: - Start / Combined Stop and Emergency-stop button

6. STEEL STRUCTURE

6.1 The structural steel used in our cranes will be supplied with certificates according to the requirements of the chosen Classification Society.

All primary steel materials are fully traceable.

The quality is selected in accordance with design rules or classification societies requirements.

Important welds are carried out in accordance with welding procedures and checked with NDT before painting.

Base column / Pedestal The lower end of the base column/Pedestal is prepared for welding to deck. Access hatches are provided. Ladder and ring platform for access to the slewing parts are provided.

Slewing Column/ Crane house The slewing column/crane house is a fully enclosed structure, containing the Operator Platform and the Hydraulic oil tank, accessible though a hatch. The top of the slewing column is provided with brackets for connection to the jib. Connection is made by plain bearings. The slewing column is connected to the pedestal through the slewing bearing.

Jib The jib is made as a welded box structure with necessary internal stiffeners. A cylinder bracket is welded to the under side of the jib.

Operator platform Open type with access ladder. The platform is located on the right hand side of the crane house.

7. SURFACE TREATMENT:

Steel surfaces will be painted with paint from Jotun.

8. DOCUMENTATION:

Instruction manuals in English, supplied in 4 paper copies and one copy on CD. The manual contains mounting instructions, start-up and operation procedures, maintenance and lubrication of the product. The manual also contains the Final Drawings and parts lists with part numbers, etc as necessary. All the relevant certificates are supplied in an independent file.

9. TESTING:

The functions of the crane are tested in the workshop according to separate Inspection and Shop Test Instruction. Onboard testing and overload testing are performed according to separate instructions.

10. SPARE PARTS:

-Spare hydraulic oil filter -One pressure gauge for hydraulic pressure measurement.

11. SPECIAL TOOLS:

Tools for tightening slewing ring bolts may be provided by TTS on request if not available at the yard.
