Q10: How to access this IP camera by public internet? 1. Make sure you can access this IP camera in local network.
2. Set up the “Port Forwarding” or “Virtual Server” at your router on port 8001 for both TCP
and UDP.
WebCAM requires certain ports to be open on your router to allow other computers on
the Internet to “see” it on your internal network. Normally, your router will have the less
common ports disabled or blocked by the router’s built-in firewall. In order for the WebCAM
applications to work properly and not be blocked, the firewall settings need to be configured.
In each instance there will be a trigger port and incoming port(s), where traffic on the trigger
port tells the Firewall to open the incoming ports. The WebCAM require that TCP Port 8001
and UDP 8001 (default settings) be opened to the Internet.
If your Internet service Provider blocks port 8001, you’ll need to reconfigure your
camera and router to other ports such as 8002,8003, etc. To change the port settings on the
camera, you’ll need to use the software “IPCameraSearcher.exe”.
Depending on the router manufacturer and model. If your IT people don’t know how to
configure the router, Please refer to the blow link of most type of router’s port forwarding for
this:

if still can’t find a solution, please contact your router manufacturer for further
assistance in configuring the router “Port Forwarding”.

4. Trouble-Shooting
Question No TS001 Problem type Trouble-Shooting Product family IP Products
Q11: I cannot find the IP camera on the network?
Problem:
I connect the camera to my router, but why the GetIP.exe or
“IPCameraSearcher.exe” software cannot find the IP camera on the local
network?
Cause:
This issue can be caused by any of the possibilities below:
1. The PC and camera is on a different subnetwork. Our camera’s IP usually
start as 192.168.1.233, but if your PC’s IP does not start at 192.168.1. *
then you will meet this problem.
2. A faulty Cat 5 network cable.
Solution:
1. Using a different subnetwork:
Find the camera’s IP which is printed on the camera package or camera
body. Then change your PC’s configuration for the same subnetwork.
First change your PC’s IP start with 192.168.1.* according to the camera’s
IP.
Then change your PC’s gateway to 192.168.1.1.
Then run IPCameraSearcher.exe to search for the camera again.
If you can find the camera now, you can update the camera’s IP and gateway
address similar to your PC’s old IP and Gateway address in
IPCameraSearcher.exe software.
Change your PC’s IP and gateway back to the old one.
Search the camera again.
2. Replace the faulty Cat 5 cable
Make sure the cat 5 cable is OK. For testing you can use this cable to connect
the PC and router, then you can check if it works OK.
3.Other solution:
Finally, if none of the above solutions resolve your issues, it is recommended
that you choose another PC and router to test it.

Q12: I cannot get the image from the camera?
Problem:
I already find the camera on the network, login into the camera successfully
both by IE or IPCamera Client software, but can not get the image from the
camera

This issue can be caused by any of the below possibilities:
1. The camera’s Active X control “IMMP4Control.OCX” did not install at your PC.
2. The Active X control is not enabled in your IE.
3. The port 8001 was closed or blocked at your router or firewall.
4. The Anti-virus or firewall blocked the port 8001 or image.
5. The camera run long time continuely.
Solution:
1. The camera’s Active X control “NVX.ocx” did not install at your PC:
Find the “NVX.exe” under the “Product Software” folder in the CD.
Double click “NVX.bat” in this folder to install the Active X control.
2. The Active X control is not enabled in your IE:
3. The port 8001 was closed or blocked by your firewall or router:
The IP camera needs two open port: Port 8001 is the default port for http
traffic, UDP port 8001 for transmit the camera control commands.
Please go to your router, check the port 8001 is blocked or not. Open this
port 8001 for IP camera.
Please go to your firewall, check the port 8001 is blocked or not. Open this
port 8001 for IP camera.
4. The Anti-virus or firewall blocking port 8001 or image.
Disable or close all the Anti-virus, firewall or the IE toolbar software as:
Yahoo toolbar, then try it again.
5. If the camera run at long time, please power off the camera, then power on
the camera after ten mixtures. Then you will get the image.
6. Finally, if none of the above solutions resolve your issues, it is recommended
that you choose another PC and router to test it.
