IntroductionConfiguring a transmitter is the most important phase after understanding what customers need on their plants.This document will guide you through the selection of different certificate and material traceability documents available within 266 pressure transmitter family. By looking at a clear sample of each certificate and reading some brief explanations, you will be able to understand in detail how wide is our offering and what we have developed to meet customers’ requirements.

What kind of document can we provide to the customer?After the selection of the main digit that characterizes the transmitter (such as “sensor range”, “flange material” etc.) you will find many additional ordering information. Note. Certificates and Material traceability documents are supplied in an envelope inside the transmitter box.

Important. Duplicates can be ordered separately for an additional charge.

What kind of certificate will be supplied as standard in case of integral manifold mounting? After manifold assembly, the transmitter is pressure tested. In addition, ABB is granting full or partial traceability: partial traceability is related to the manifold body only, whereas the full traceability is listing details about all components. Samples of these certificates available at page 17.

EN 10204 identifies different kinds of document (2.1, 2.2 and 3.1). What is their meaning? — 2.1 certificates are documents in which the manufacturer declares that the products supplied are in compliance with the requirements of the order, without including any test results. — 2.2 certificates are very similar to the 2.1 documents, but they also includes some test results based on non-specific inspection1. — 3.1 certificates are documents issued by the manufacturer in which he declares that the product supplied are in compliance with the requirements of the order and in which he provides test results. The test unit and the tests to be carried out are defined by the product specification, the official regulation and corresponding rules and/or the order. The document is validated by the manufacturer’s authorized inspection representative, independent of the manufacturing department (typically the Quality dept.). Test results are based on specific inspection2.

EN 10204 does not define the content of the different documents but identifies who shall be considered as responsible for the documents (inside or outside the manufacturing department).

Certificate C1: Inspection certificate of calibration (10 points) – EN 10204–3.1The upper part of all our certificates shows customers and transmitter data (product code, serial number, tag, outupt etc.). In the middle of the C1 certificate, a table details the 10 tested pressure points. These values are generated using the test equipment listed below and the deviation between the output of the transmitter and the generated value is reported on the certificate. We certify that the instrument has been tested according to ABB standard and meets the stated performance.

Important. For Profibus PA, FOUNDATION Fieldbus and WirelessHART protocols, "Output Current" values are not applicable. In addition, deviation is calculated on "Digital Output" (PV).

Certificate C3: Inspection certificate of the cleanliness stage according to DIN 25410 – EN 10204–3.1This certificate states that the transducer and the measuring chambers have been properly cleaned with a degreasing detergents. This certificate ensures that all the significative parts of the transmitter are oil and grease free. This certificate is compatible with the oxygen service procedure (option P1).

Certificate C4: Inspection certificate of helium leakage test of the sensor module – EN 10204–3.1The inspection certificate identified by digit C4 states that the sensor module features high-quality, leakage-proof weldings. The test has been performed in vacuum conditions and with a certified helium leak detector (as detailed throughout the certificate).After indicating the admissible rate, the user can see the exact amount of the air leakage of the sensor module.

Important. Helium leakage test is performed on valve(s) and/or plug(s) fitted on process flange(s) as well as on flange(s)-to-transducer gasketed area. C4 is not available for: — P-Style transmitter with direct-mount or remote-seal (models 266ARH, 266ADH, 266GRH, 266GDH, 266NRH, 266NDH, 266HRH, 266HDH)

— double-seal transmitters (models 266MRH and 266DRH with two remote seals)

— gauge and absolute DP-Style transmitters (models 266PRH and 266VRH because their low pressure sides are not in contact with the process). This certification does not cover integral-mounted manifolds.

Testing pressure is depending on transmitter construction: — sensor OVP for gauge and absolute pressure transmitters — sensor MWP for differential pressure transmitters — flange rating of diaphragm-equipped transmitters (or OVP/MWP if lower)This certificate states test duration and results.

Wetted parts are all those components that are in direct contact with the process. This test is performed both on standard transmitters (gauge, absolute or differential) and on diaphragm seal-equipped devices (regardless of remote or direct mounting). Moreover, flushing rings are tested too (if any). The images below explain what parts of the instrument are tested depending on the selected configuration.

Important. PMI test is performed on both instrument sides (High and Low).

Important. To maintain instrument’s performance in compliance with specifications, diaphragms are not directly tested; PMI test is performed on raw strip of the same materials used for sensor manufacturing. Therefore, for instrument diaphragms the results of the raw strip is accepted.

Important. In case of adapter angle entry, PMI test is performed on its process mating surface.

Important. In case DP-Style pressure transmitters with direct-mount seal feature on the Low side a standard process connection. Seal body and diaphragm are tested together with the negative pressure process flange and the drain/vent valve (if configured).

Important. In case of extended diaphragm, the extension is always tested.

Important. Remote seal-equipped transmitters are tested in the same way.

Important. For fixed-flange seal models (S26FA and S26FE), flange is considered as wetted part, therefore it is tested.

Important. Assembled manifold is not included into PMI test scope.

Certificate H1: Certificate of compliance with the order of process wetted parts – EN 10204–2.1H1 is a material traceability document that represents a declaration of conformity issued by ABB Quality department without mentioning any test or any other certificate. The certificate reports that all melt analysis of metallic parts are within the limit values according to the standards: DIN, EN, ISO and ASTM. Moreover it declares that a visual and dimensional check of the pressure bearing and process wetted parts has been carried out.

Certificate H3: Material certificate for pressure bearing and process wetted parts – EN 10204–3.1This document, issued by the manufacturer, reports the complete traceability data according to EN 10204-3.1. Numbers refer to material certificate provided by the raw material suppliers (and delivered together with ABB H3 certificate). The instrument wetted parts (with the exception of the diaphragm) are also engraved with the heat number from the mill. It includes, in addition, all the data shown on H1 certificate of compliance. Integral manifold: certificate of the pressure testThis document certifies that the instrument has been tested with integrally mounted manifold at its pressure limit (OVP for gauge and absolute, MWP for differential pressure transmitters). When the manifold is assembled to a 2600T pressure transmitter with NACE compliance A4-50 Stainless Steel bolts (available on request), the maximum working pressure is limited to 210 bar (3045 psi).
