Product DescriptionAn emulsion-based sealant for fire retarding construction joints inbuildings. This product will transfer into a foam above +200°C. It is notcorrosive towards metals and has low odour. After application theproduct forms a tough plastic, elastic rubber seal by evaporation ofwater from the sealant. It has excellent sound absorbing qualities.

UsesSuitable for indoor joints where a fire retardant seal is required toprevent the passage of fire, smoke and vapours. Perimeter pointingaround door and window frames, concrete and brickwork. For jointsbetween walls, ceilings and joints around pipe and cable work. Jointdimensions do have an effect on the fire retarding properties. Thedeeper the joints are sealed the better the fire retarding properties. Canbe used as an acoustic sealant.

Directions of Use

Cut the cartridge seal and screw on the nozzle which should be cut toyour required size. Using a skeleton gun, apply the sealant into the gapor joint ensuring a good solid fill. If required place masking tape alongedges, removing within 5 minutes of application.

Surface Preparations and FinishingSurfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and other loosematerial. Use diluted Intumescent sealant as a primer for highly poroussurfaces. Adhesion tests prior to application are recommended. Werecommend a paint compatability test before application. Always toolusing a spatula or stick wetted with soapy water within 5 minutes ofapplication.

PaintabilityThis product is paintable after curing with water based and syntheticpaints. Painting with highly filled water based paint can create cracking.

CleaningTools to be cleaned after use with water. Hands can be cleaned with SXMulti-Purpose Cleaning Wipes and/or water and soap.
