DC Department of Behavioral Health Technical Assistance Training. In anticipation of the upcoming re-release of its Request for Application (RFA) DC Peer Operated Center (POC), the DC Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) will provide Technical Assistance Training on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Training will be held at 64 New York Avenue, NE. Training will convene in the DBH Training Room 242. Technical Assistance will be comprised of basic information to further one’s understanding of this specific RFA and how to respond to the RFA requirements to include the Scoring Criteria. Additionally, you will hear information on preventable shortcomings found in application preparation; specifically, the do’s and don’ts. Space is limited. Please RSVP to [email protected] by no later than Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Extensive 8-Week Proposal Writing Course. The Mayor’s Office of Partnerships and Grant Services (OPGS) has partnered with The Magi Group, LLC to offer a proposal writing course for District of Columbia Government Employees and Nonprofit Executive Directors, Program Officers, Board of Directors and staff development officers. Participating nonprofit organizations must have programs that have been operating for at least one year and are registered in the District of Columbia as a nonprofit. (There will be site visits to all nonprofit programs before selections). Consultants and contractual staff working for nonprofits are not eligible. This course is designed for both the novice and the experienced individual. This course combines expert instruction, with practical exercises, to take you step-by-step through all the stages of planning programs, locating funding sources, and writing grant proposals. The class is limited and participants will be accepted via registration on a competitive basis. Class fees will be covered by a competitive scholarship, so it is important that all participants are able to commit to attend all sessions. Deadl ine to submit a regis t rat ion is March 18. Previous Funding Resources and Announcements 2018 Advancement in Management (AIM) Award Competition. The Center for Nonprofit Advancement’s application for its 2018 Advancement in Management (AIM) Award Competition is now available. Nonprofits in the Greater Washington region that believe they demonstrate outstanding achievement in organizational management are eligible to appl. The Award incorporates a three-step judging process that includes a part one written application and fact sheet, an invitation-only part two and a site visit for finalists. Cornerstone OnDemand Foundation, is announcing its Impact Grant Program. Winners will receive a two-year donation of Cornerstone OnDemand software and services, including unlimited use of its Learning Management System and access to a range of pro bono business consulting services. While an LMS is often used to support the learning and development of an organization’s internal employees, the focus of the Impact Grant program is to enable nonprofits to leverage the technology to better reach, train, and prepare their external network – the individuals and communities they serve. Applicants must be an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organization; have an existing training initiative that requires a technology solution to effectively scale; have a clearly articulated vision or plan for expansion of the program; and be able to demonstrate executive support for this program and for the financial commitment in year’s three to five. US Lacrosse Soft Stick Lacrosse Equipment Grant. The US Lacrosse Soft Stick Lacrosse Equipment Grant announces in kind grant to provide a set of soft lacrosse equipment to schools, after-school programs and community-based youth organizations. A set of soft lacrosse equipment includes; 30 soft lacrosse sticks, 30 soft lacrosse balls, one (1) copy of the US Lacrosse PE Curriculum Guide and Reproducible packet and one (1) copy of the Teaching Soft-Stick Lacrosse DVD.
