MILLENNIALS GEN-X BABY BOOMERS The option of same-day delivery is significantly more important to parents of children under 18 than nonparents. 50 percent of parents expect the option of same-day delivery when making a purchase online, compared to just 36 percent of nonparents. THE EXPERIENCE OF SHOPPING IN-STORE Millennials are actually the most likely generation to prefer to make purchases in a store, 72 percent compared to 65 percent of Gen Xers and 68 percent of boomers. In addition, millennials are much more likely than other generations to enjoy shopping in a store or mall with others, compared to Gen-Xers and boomers. THE USE OF MOBILE WALLET TECHNOLOGY One in three millennials agree that making purchases with a mobile wallet (e.g., Google Wallet, Apple Pay, Visa PayWave, etc.) is important to them, compared to only 21 percent of the total survey population. Similarly, parents with children under 18 living in their household are nearly twice as likely to feel that making purchases with a mobile wallet is important.
