Team PRAYAAG organised Percy Evans Debate Competition (Internal) 2020 Team Prayaag successfully organised the Percy Evans Debate Competition (Internal) on 20 th Jan 2020 at MTDC Auditorium, Duliajan. Team Prayaag successfully organised the Percy Evans Debate Competition (Internal) on 20th Jan 2020 at MTDC Auditorium, Duliajan. The event was graced by Mr Rajib Sarma, RCE (i/c), Mr Prasanta Borkakoty, ED(HR&A), Mr Biswabrata Lahkar, ED (ES,IC & DOR), Mr Ashit Kumar Baruah, ED(L&D), Mr. Anfor Ali Haque, CGM (PE&S), Mr H C Borah, CGM (Admin), Mr G V J Rao, CGM (Geophysics), Mr D K Bhuyan, CGM (PA), and other officials of OIL. After an initial registration by 20 interested participants, 16 could finally make it to the competition. The topic for the debate was ‘Imprudent Use of Technology has diminished the creative power of Millennials’. Dr Nasmeem Farhin Akhtar, Head, Deptt of English & Chairperson, Centre for Women’s Studies Dibrugarh University, Professor was the Hon’ble speaker for the session while the Hon’ble Judges were Mr D M Baruah, DGM (Planning, MIS), Mr T Hazarika, DGM (CSR&CC) and Ms F S Haque, DGM (Personnel). The debate was lively with a plethora of arguments and counter arguments. In the end it was Ms B Sarita Rao, Superintending Engineer (Electrical) who bagged the Best Debater Award. Ms Tridisha Goswami, Superintending Engineer (OGPS) and Mr Jharna Baruah, Superintending Engineer (LPG) finished a close 2 nd and 3 rd . The Special mention award was shared by Mr Kartik Sharma, Senior Geophysicist and Ms Manashi Senswa, Senior Geologist. Ms B Sarita Rao and Ms Tridisha Goswami will represent OIL in the Inter-PSU Percy Evans Debate Competition to be hosted by OIL at its Field Head Quarter that will be organised in the month of February 2020. In their inspiring speech Hon’ble Speaker, Judges and other officials of OIL spoke at length on the topic. The event ended with handing over of the prizes to the winners and the participants.
