Cuba exports 75% of its nickel to Europe, using it in stainless steel and other alloys
Canada’s Sherritt International Corp., is currently the biggest nickel mining firm in Cuba
Sherritt has Castro’s approval to develop beach resorts and strengthen communications and transport networks
