They compare her family life, home, school, daily routine, likes and dislikes to their own lives. 1 Reading • Put the students in pairs and ask them to discuss the questions before they read the text. • Ask a few students to share their ideas with the class. Read the text with the students and ask them if their answers were correct. 2 Comprehension • Ask the students to look at the answers and write questions for Amadou, starting each one with a question word. If they need help, give them the question word. Check the answers with the class. Accept any correct wording. Answers 1 How old are you? 2 Who do you live with? 3 What time do you leave home/go to school? 4 When are you at school? 5 How long is your journey home?/How long does it take to walk home? 6 What do you like doing? 7 Why doesn’t your TV work sometimes? 3 Vocabulary • Ask the students to look at the pictures and try to match them to the words. Encourage them to find the words in the text and guess the meaning from the context. Ask the students to compare answers in pairs before checking them with the class.
