ASSIGNMENT 3:TEA PACKAGING

CHRISTOPHER BAMBURY

There’s nothing like Nought Tea:

Nought-Tea is a tea that is marketed towards 25-35 year old professionals with noticeable disposable income. This tea brand uses ethically and sustainably produced materials to capture the ever-growing ethically and environmentally conscious market.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT:

GRAPHIC DESIGN:

COLOUR SELECTION:

MINT

LEMON

EARL GREY

CHAI

When choosing colours, the flavours of the tea were taken into consideration. For example: green was chosen for mint because the mint leaf is green. A “younger” pastel version of each colour was chosen to help provide highlights on the black and white design of the packaging.

PACKAGING DESIGN:

A simple black & white base was chosen to set the package apart from other tea brands on the supermarket shelf. It also helps to deliver an urban and youthful flavour to the brand, which ties in with the target market.

Subtle design choices also double as practical production devices. eg: the teabag packet.

PACKAGING DESIGN cont.:

thus reducing carbon emissions from excess transportation. The box is constructed using a puzzle slot system for the base and only requires one tab to be glued in order to hold its shape.

THE MATERIALS:

Tea Box: Sustainably recycled 350gsm SilkMatt PaperTea Packets: Sustainably reduced 112gsm Transparency Paper (Wax Lined to keep the tea fresh)Plastic wrap: Biodegradable Shrink plastic
