We create ultra-reliable communication systems providing information to the public, key staff and the emergency services.

As well as comprehensive customer information and public address systems, we develop solutions that can monitor environmental data or control security infrastructure.

Our technology operates across industries. Connecting, communicating and controlling remote environments, key personnel, the public and emergency services.

RailOur wide experience in communications systems for railways dates from our pioneering design of the Help Point in 1997 which is now adopted on networks from London to Sydney. However, our expertise goes way beyond the platform; creating integrated systems that put a railway operator at the heart of communications, coordinating locomotive drivers, emergency services, track maintenance, CCTV and customer information systems. We are flexible in our approach to projects providing turnkey, whole-life services whilst also offering specific elements as part of larger projects including the supply, installation and maintenance of our equipment.

RoadToday’s motorways and highways are dangerous environments where a rapid response to a situation is often critical. Over 90% of the Swiss road network depends on our roadside emergency telephones which connect stranded motorists with a central office. Our system can allow base operators not just to speak directly to the roadside caller but to observe the situation via remote control CCTV. The operator is able to connect to the emergency services via the TETRA network and even place them in direct contact with the motorist.

PortsWe can create fully integrated communications systems that allow port operators to remotely control and coordinate complex working environments. Our versatile systems are able to operate passenger information and public address systems as well as facilitating communications between dockside managers, access points and shipping. No two ports are identical but in collaborating with port operators we can provide a communications system which meets the precise needs of a given location.

AirportsHandling high volume passenger flow is a key part of the TDM portfolio. We meet the need for high vigilance in security conscious environments and the requirement for reliable customer information from car park to airport gate. We create site specific systems which provide a communications network that puts a central operator in control of the passenger information as well as the ability to coordinate airside engineers and emergency services.

EnergyFor large industrial complexes such as oil refineries and gas terminals, we offer central management of access points, public address systems and CCTV as well as remote environmental monitoring such as fire detection and accompanying alarm systems. This enables a high level of security to be maintained in large high risk areas.

Public SafetyOur leading edge technology operates very effectively to maintain public safety in urban city centres. As well as providing a network of public information Help Points we are also able to install monitoring systems that can detect environmental events such as landslides, fire, and flood which can be combined with a public address system to play pre-recorded emergency warnings. Central operators can also coordinate emergency services while monitoring situations on CCTV.

EducationOur solutions offer possibilities for enormously simplifying large building and campus infrastructures thereby vastly improving reliability, whilst significantly bringing down whole-life costs. We offer a system which is able to dispatch security staff, monitor fire sensors, control CCTV, make campus-wide announcements and be used as WiFi hotspots.

Our technology is developed in-house by our team of highly skilled engineers.

TDM was chosen to deliver our GSM-R Operational Telecom system for the Channel Tunnel, the longest undersea tunnel in the world linking the UK with France and serving over 20 million people a year. Our GSM-R FTS Dispatching System for the Rail and Terminal Control Centre consists of a two core geo-redundant system which has been integrated into both UK and French control centres with 46 dispatcher workplaces.

TDM supplies an SOS help point network to 90% of Swiss Roads. Fully integrated with legacy systems it combines fire extinguisher sensors that notify the central operator when a fire extinguisher is removed in a tunnel so that emergency services can be notified and announcements made by PA system.

TDM developed a solution for Swiss Rail that enabled them to become the first rail company in Europe to deploy live train information to passengers via text message, internet and public address system. The information is prepared centrally and the content is consistent irrespective of the delivery location or medium.

TDM was chosen to deliver our range of communication and security solutions to the longest rail tunnel in the world, the AlpTransit Gotthard Tunnel in the Swiss Alps which is due for completion in 2016. Our in-house operations team have delivered 2 central NIS servers, over 400 Emergency Help Points, 15 VoIP phones and 4 Public Address Systems which will enhance the communication and security in the record breaking 57 km tunnel.

South West Trains is one of many UK rail operators that depend on the TDM range of integrated customer information and control systems. We have installed over 370 Help Points, CCTV monitoring and the connection of a central operator.

TDM delivers a full range of passenger information, with CCTV, over 200 Help Points and public address system to the UK’s Southern network including Clapham Junction which handles more passengers than any rail hub in Europe. As well as the design of the system we also install and maintain all of our equipment.

Our technology operates across industries, networks and international boundaries.

If we fail, the Euro Tunnel closes, England’s trains and Switzerland’s road and rail network are in peril. We don’t fail.
