Name: Sherry Buxo

Class Standing: Senior

Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Major: Liberal Arts

Special Interest/Future Career Plans: I love to play soccer and I would like to become a human resources manager.

Did the amount of diversity play a role in the institutions you looked at and therefore choose? Yes it did. I wanted to go to a school where I could experience different ethnic cultures; not just one.

What do you like most about TC3? I like the fact that the classes are small and I am able to interact with the professors.

What do you like least about TC3? Nothing for now. What would you tell other under-represented students who are looking at TC3 as an option for their own higher education? It has a great learning environment. The teachers are very understanding, and are therefore you, and if you want to you can participate in a NJCAA intercollegiate athletic program.

Dear Students: It is my hope that at this time you have found some-thing positive to become a part of at TC3. Your in-volvement on campus is important! There are many opportunities on campus for one to participate in. The opportunities vary in time commitment as well as participation. Some require an hour per week, an hour every two weeks, or an hour once per month. Do not take these opportunities for granted. Whether it is a club, organization, or campus committee, they can add value to your education experience. This value compounds when it comes time to transfer to another school or obtain that job in your chosen career field. Being involved is definitely a pathway to success. Nevertheless, success also requires you to attend class, take detailed notes, and to study more often than Sunday night. Best regards, Seth Thompson Director of Multicultural Services

Name: Kirk Wise Age: 21 High School: Harry Van Arsdale Major: Human Services Future Career Plans/ College: Become a Licensed Social Worker and Franchise Restaurant Owner Hometown: Brooklyn N.Y. Favorite Food: Chicken Alfredo Favorite Movie: Love and Basketball More about Kirk: I would say I’m one of the friendliest and ambitious people in the world, I love to help people and I’m very down to earth. Life is very short and tomorrow’s not promised to anyone, with that said you should make the best out of whatever you do. I learned along-time ago that all good things come to an end, so no matter what you do make sure it’s memorable.

T he play tells the story of two college students, Freeman, an African-American man, and Angelita, a

Latino woman, both forced to confront and overcome cultural and racial prejudices, while defending their bond from the biases held by family and friends. Platanos & Collard Greens is a thought-provoking romantic comedy that tactfully addresses stereotypes, prejudices, and urban myths that exist between African-Americans and Latinos, within the context of Hip Hop, humor, and satire. The play encourages the audience to evaluate the stereotypes that pervade the urban New York experience: Black men as freakishly endowed and Latino women as sexually insatiable 'hot mulattas' and aesthetic superiors. Lamb displays these common yet outrageous viewpoints while humorously and deftly shooting them down and poetically exposing them justly as misrepresentations of reality. The audience is likely to question conventional attitudes held about themselves and others, no doubt leaving the theater as if they had chosen the red pill.
