Taxotere Chemotherapy Drug Linked To Permanent Hair LossMost people who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis are so worried about beatingthe disease that they are willing tosacrifice their hair while going throughchemotherapy. What some patients were never warned about, however, is thatone chemo drug could leave patients without any hair at all even after treatment has ended. Taxotere, manufactured by Sanofi-Aventis, is a widely-used chemotherapy drug to treat breast cancer and other forms ofcancer. The drug is administeredintravenously to prevent cancer cellsfrom spreading. While Taxotere can be effective in treating patients diagnosed with cancer, lawsuits are being filed against Sanofi-Aventis regarding Taxotere’s link to permanent hair loss. Reports reveal that that manufacturer knew about the dangers of Taxotere but failed to mention it to patients and the medical community.

Who may have a lawsuit? Cancer patients who are dealing with permanent hair loss after undergoing chemotherapy.

I recently underwent chemo but my hair hasn’t grown back yet. How long should I wait? While each individual is different, it is important to start the medical review as soon as possible as important deadlines are always arising in drug and device litigation. The attorneys at Boyk Law can create a reasonable timeline for you. Man Shot While On TheJob, Hospitalized After Two SurgeriesOur client was making a delivery to an Ann Arbor pharmacy when he was shot in the stomach by someone on the street. He had emergency surgery before a week-long hospital stay, but he had to un-dergo two more surgeries and additional hospital-izations to treat a severe infection. We are helping the client with both the worker’s compensation portion of the case but also the injury aspect as well as he continues his long road to recovery.

Car Accident While On The Job Leaves Client With ABroken HipBoyk Law is helping our client with both his worker’s compensation claim and his auto accident claim after he was injured in a car wreck while on the job. He had to be life-flighted to the nearest trauma hospital where it was discovered that his hip was fractured. He is walking with a walker as he undergoes additional treat-ment from his orthopedic doctor while they determine the next stages of his care.

Woman Loses Her Life In A Fatal Car AccidentWe are helping the family of a woman who lost her life after a motorcycle accident. She was just 23-years-old and the mother of two children when she was riding as a passenger on a motorcycle that struck a car that was turning in front of them, causing her and the driver to be thrown from the bike.

Week #1 - Caydence Chevalier, 6Nominated by: Gail Chevalier, Caydence’s grandmotherGail’s nomination: “Cay-dence just completed her first-grade year and I am proud to say with flying colors.  In November of 2017 her Dad Josh had to have spinal surgery which

left him unable to work anymore, and at this point there is a great possibility that he will have to have another surgery in the near future.  Caydence has been a trooper through all of this helping her family with simple chores and keeping her grades up at school.  Caydence has been a big help to her dad just by doing little things that he can no longer do.  She plays with her 4-year-old sister to help keep her occupied while her Mom works.  She loves to Teach her sister the things she has learned in school as well. I certainly hope that the gift of learning and sharing she shows carries on throughout her lifetime.”

Week #2 – Tre Paige, 9Nominated by: Stacey Paige, Tre’s motherStacey’s nomination: “Tre is an amazing boy who loves being outside and has such a big heart. Financially it’s been a struggle to afford a bike his size for him due to medical expenses we face after his sister was diagnosed with complete kidney failure which required her to have a kidney transplant and my husband was her donor, since then we have been financially strapped. Tre is so deserving of a bike!”

Week # 4 – Charles Boiselle, 15Nominated by: Beth Incorvaia, BSW, LSW – Charles’ Social WorkerBeth’s nomination: “Charles is a very intelligent, artistic and kind young man who attends Maritime academy. Charles has had a rough 3 years, which include losing his dad and older sister, both to overdoses. Charles has been deeply impacted by the loss and suffers with grief and depression. Charles still goes to school and gives it his best, getting high marks in school and I believe making honor roll. Charles is motivated to join the military and wants to make this his career goal. With this opportunity to have a bike, this would allow him to exercise and get in shape for his entry into the military. If you choose Charles, you couldn’t select a nicer, kinder more thoughtful and deserving young man. He does not know I am submitting this, but I know would be most grateful for the opportunity.”

Prices are fair, the food is fantastic, and the wait staff is friendly and accommodating.
