    A Day for People in Parish Ministry with Steven Warner

    (Associate Director of Notre Dame Newman Centre for Faith &

    Reason), Sat. 16th November, 11.00am – 3.00pm. in the Blessed

    Sacrament Chapel, Knock. This event will cater for all those

    who are involved in ministry within their own parishes - Choirs,

    Ministers of the Word, Ministers of the Eucharist, Youth Minis-

    try, Sacristans and Altar Groups. The day will include some

    reflective time on the importance of being involved actively in

    your Parish, followed by workshops which will provide some

    practical resources and training within your particular ministry.

    Anyone who is involved in ministry in our parish is encour-

    aged to attend. There is no charge for this event. To book a

    BEREAVED PARENTS’ MASS: The annual Mass for be-

    reaved parents at Knock Shrine takes place this Sunday 10th

    November at 3.00pm. in the Rest & Care Centre. All welcome.

    HEALING & ANOINTING SERVICE: A day of prayer,

    healing and anointing for victims of suicide and their families.

    Sunday 17th November from 1.15 to 5.30pm. in the Church of

    the Holy Rosary, Castlebar. Led by Fr. Bill Keogh. Praise and

    Worship, Rosary, Word of God and Adoration. All welcome.

    KNOCK SHRINE HISTORY SEMINAR: A history seminar

    entitled ‘People, Place and the Knock Apparition’ in the context

    of the political and social history of 19th century Ireland will

    take place in Knock House Hotel on Saturday 30th November.

    Speakers will include Professor Gearóid Ó Tuathaigh, Dr.

    Nollaig Ó Muraíle and Mr. Tom Neary who will discuss and

    explore events, individuals and social change in everyday life

    during this time as well as aspects of local history, genealogy

    and the lives of the Apparition Witnesses. Fee €10 or €30 in-

    11th November. For anyone affected by alcohol, there are

    weekly AA and Al-Anon meetings in Ballyhaunis. AA - Fridays

    at 8.30pm. in Scoil Íosa.

    THE ANNUAL SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY will be held

    on Sunday 1st December in Clare Court Communal House.

    Meal at 1.00pm. followed by entertainment and refreshments.

    MAYO MACRA NA FEIRME are holding a Launch night on

    Friday 22nd November at 8.30pm. in Mac's Bar, Ballyhaunis,

    for anyone interested in forming or joining a Macra Club in the

    Ballyhaunis area. If you are aged 17 to 35 and are interested in

    Sport, Agriculture, Travel, Drama, Social Events and much

    more then Macra is for you. Come along on the night to find out

    what Macra can offer to not alone the members but the local

    community! All welcome to attend - male/female, farming/non-

    TUAM CANCER CARE: On Thursday 14th November from

    11.00am. - 12.00pm. Declan Weir, Information Officer with

    Citizen's Advice Bureau, Tuam, will give a brief talk on benefits

    and entitlements for people who have been affected by a cancer

    diagnosis. He will also be available to answer whatever ques-

    tions or concerns you may have around social welfare benefits.
