My Comments
Task based Approach aims to provide learnes with a natural context for language use. As learners to compleate a task, they have abundant opportunity to interact. In this
approach
learners have
to check to see
is they have
comprehended
correctly and,
at times they
have to seek
clarification.
Types of Taks
Prabhu identified three types of task,
all of which were represented in the
lesson we have just observed.
These types are:
1. Information - Gap Activity
2. Opinion – Gap Activity
3. A Reasoning – Gap Activity
Each type can
be used or
apply
depending of
the level of the
class that the
teacher is
dealing with. I
consider is a
very helpful
clasification.
My Comments
In 1993
Long and Crookes have identified three different types of task based approaches… they called Syllabi.
1. Procedural: is already illustrated.
2. Notion that Language based should be seen as a process.
3. Their own tasked based teaching, which focuses on meaning interaction while still drawing student’s attention.
This is a
helpfull way to
have the
students see
the logic
involved in
what they are
begin asked to
do.
.
My Comments
Project Work
Is not determinated but rather
derives from the nature of a
particular project that they students
elect to do.
Three stages:
1. Inside of the classroom
2. Ouside of the classroom
3. Students Review the project.
This is more for
adults students
but the teacher
still breaks
down into
smaller steps
the logical
thinking
process
necessary to
complete the
task.
My Comments
CLT Lesson was design to get students
to practice making predictions, a
communicative function, the task based
lesson we observed did not focus on a
particular function or form of the
language. In fact, the teacher used a
wide variety of linguistic forms.
