Star Image• Star image is created from a range of

materials we have used our pop video, CD cover and Poster to advertise our star into the industry so they can be market towards our target audience

Direct Address

The Music Video

The point of our music video was to create a star image in The Escape we wanted the audience to see the hard work done in the band to create a mise en scene that they are together this would open up more chance of selling the star

We also wanted her to be the star as a lead female singer to portray her independence as a women and her battle through life as the concept shows she is always fighting

Page 4: \Task 2

Target audience• In L.E.S Artistes her star image is made up of a range of meanings which are

attractive to the target audiences

Our main audience would be the pester power of young teenagers who are now classed E where the main spending money would come from the parents so we need to suggest a way of appealing to them to.

In our video there is a lot of sexual hints and clips where to would not appeal to many Muslims or Hindus as it could be quite offensive to them so our main religion for a target audience would be church of England as for one in our video we have no black person to suggest we are targeting only white people as well which come under British orientated

Many of our audience would be from both genders as of we are appealing to females as she is dominant and powerful and every female would like to be here where she is very attractive and that when she uses it to her advantage males are persuading of all ages

• She is targeting youthfulness as her band is very young and that we need young people to look up to her as a role model that we can get that anything is possible

Page 5: \Task 2

Rebellion

• As with many young people we see in our video in the prison cell she is very rebellious which makes her audience like her as she is breaking the boundaries of real life not many people can break out of prison but she can. This gives her a independent feel as a women to show the world what she can do

Page 6: \Task 2

Youthfulness

She is targeting youthfulness as her band is very young and that we need young people to look up to her as a role model that we can get that anything is possiable as with many young people they want to aspire into something so our video will portray that they can do it to come into her world with making the connection

As she looks young and attractive the younger audience can relate and want to look like her and think they can as she is cute and young this makes the impossible possible

Page 7: \Task 2

Sexual magnetism

• She is quite a sex object in the fact that she is attractive and has bare clothing this would suggest her roles of a women and that she is using everything she has to get what she wants which attractive an overall audience of types. This would appeal a lot to the male audience for wanting her built also the female aspect to want to be her it relates to both genders

Page 8: \Task 2

Costume

• In L.E.S Artists she has various costumes changes and they bring out her image in different ways where she can be domain and powerful and on

In the tunnel where she has a spy looked to her to create a sense of purpose what she needs to do

Where as in the prison she has a more sexual look to her that she has been beaten down

• The rooftop she has changed into her most powerful costume to suggests she had the power to do it

Page 9: \Task 2

Locations • Each location shows ruby’s different persona

when she is in the tunnel she has that spy look about her quite similar to destiny child's look where they are portraying a Charlie angels style look

she is in the prison she became some sex object as she is dressed in her bare clothes in gaffe tape but as she is breaking out of prison this suggests she is strong and that not many people escape form prison

• The rooftop gives her the most power as she escapes from the rooftop to suggest she is doing a mans role to jump on the helicopter and so she leaves her band behind.

Organic Or Synthetic

Although she is a TV organic Bard to talking about the everyday lives and plays with her band to show off instrumentation to appeal.

In L.E.S Artistes she is naturally a synthetic performer of the song

Page 11: \Task 2

Incoherent

• Fundamentally the star image is incoherent that is incomplete and ‘open’. Dyer says that this is because it is based upon two key paradoxes.

• The star must be simultaneously ordinary and extraordinary for the consumer as we see in L.E.S Artistes that she is a normal girl who can break out of prison. Not everyone can achieved this goal which sets her higher than the usual person but common enough for us to relate to so not a superhero.
