Target Audience of a Horror FilmOur film is aimed at people aged around 15-24. this is because our research shows to us that these are the ages most likely to go and watch a film such as this and the rough film certification for this film would be 15. Therefore these would be the types of people who would go to the cinema to watch a film like this.

We would aim this film predominantly towards males as they are stereotypically more likely to watch a film containing horror and action elements, whereas females generally prefer to watch a romance or comedy. However this may not always be the case with our film owing to the fact both actors are female.

Our Research in Detail

1. To help us choose our target audience we looked at the British Board of Film Classification website to help us choose a minimum age for our target audience. We chose a 15 classification because our horror film would have strong threat and menace yet there would be no intensly gory images. http://www.bbfc.co.uk/what-classification/15

2. We also looked at the average age of people who went to the cinema over the last 12 months; we found that the average ranges from 14- 24.
