Abstract

Iqbal and Tasawuf is much debated issue. Many writers have written on this topic. The

major point of discussion in these writings has been the affiliation of Iqbal with Tasawuf.

There has been a long debate on the issue that whether Iqbal was in favour of Tasawuf oragainst it. However, it is a fact that the thought and poetry of Iqbal can not be interpreted

leaving Tasawuf aside. Iqbal has adopted the destination and objective of Taswuf but

criticized its methodology. Resolution of this conflict is the major question which needs

further research.
