This year the Kate Ireland Dinner & Auction will be held at Tall Timbers headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida. Festivities include a cocktail reception, silent and live auction and dinner. Each year the auction features a compelling collection of world class artwork, unparalleled hunting and fishing opportunities and unique offerings from the Red Hills region and beyond. the Honoree

Named in honor of one of Tall Timbers’ most treasured supporters, the Kate Ireland Dinner & Auction is a fundraising event held annually to benefit the Tall Timbers Foundation, which supports Tall Timbers’ research and conservation programs. This year, ten percent of the auction proceeds will be dedicated to the construction of the Tall Timbers Fire Training & Education Center, the future location of the Kate Ireland Auction. Since its founding in 1958, Tall Timbers’ research focus has been the ecology and management of fire-dependent ecosystems and wildlife, including bobwhite quail, in the Southeastern Coastal Plain. Our conservation efforts are dedicated to helping protect the distinctive, rural landscape of the Red Hills Region of south Georgia and north Florida and its traditional land uses. Throughout our 63-year history, Tall Timbers has brought groups to the research station to promote prescribed fire and to teach how we integrate our fire research into land management for game birds and rare species. Our facilities, however, are no longer sufficient to meet our education needs, especially now that our fire research program is the leading think tank on prescribed fire, guiding the future of fire management in the United States, and elsewhere. To do this we need to expand our facilities. Tall Timbers is raising funds to build a modern conference center that will expand our meeting and training capabilities.
