WELCOME
ALISON CLARK-JENKINS
Regional Director,
Arts Council England
“The TakeOff Festival is an important national
festival which brings world-class theatre to
young audiences. Hosted in our region,
TakeOff not only supports artists in the early
development of ideas for work for young
audiences, but provides them with a platform
to show that work and support it where it
shows promise. I look forward to seeing the
exciting work during the festival in Durham.”
LYN GARDNER

“With its rich programme of world class
theatre from the UK and beyond, TakeOff
launches children and young people on an
imaginative journey without limits.”

Be swallowed by a storytelling whale, tickled
by some mischievous polar bears, set off on
an adventure into the clouds, or tackle some
very naughty rabbits, TakeOff Festival
reminds us all of the importance of visiting the
place where magic happens.

Theatre Hullabaloo &

of magic which would make a whole lot of difference.
Puppetry, song and a pinch of elf magic combine in this new version
of the Christmas classic from award winning playwright, Mike Kenny.

THEATRE HULLABALOO
Theatre Hullabaloo is the North East’s specialist producer of theatre for young audiences. We believe that children and young people
have an entitlement to access theatre of the highest quality and greatest artistic challenge, so we collaborate with artists working at the
forefront of their artform, developing ideas with young people, to create excellent and inventive theatre.
Hullabaloo: (from NE and Scots dialects). Noisy excitement or fuss. A
performance, celebration or
other noisy event. A loud noise made in protest.
Widespread excitement.
SUPPORT TAKEOFF FESTIVAL
Donating to TakeOff Festival will extend opportunities to children and families in some of the most deprived parts of the country, bringing
communities together in the best way the arts can. Theatre Hullabaloo is core funded by Arts Council England, so every penny that you
donate will go directly into frontline projects that will help children and young people develop emotionally, imaginatively and
inspire to more
If you give to TakeOff Festival in 2012, we can make your money go further through a match funding initiative and we can do even more
if you choose to include GiftAid too. Make a difference to the lives of children in your community by supporting TakeOff Festival.
You can donate at www.takeofffestival.org.uk
