Hello Year 3!

to websites and information to help with this on our website under the
Home Learning Help section in the ‘About Our Classes – Year 3’ tab.
Maths and Literacy For your daily Maths and Literacy lessons please
use BBC bitesize. Click on the link then ‘Start a Lesson’ and choose

adding, subtracting and also STATISTICS covering pictograms
and bar charts

mixture.
• Do continue with your reading each day. J.K. Rowling has a
new online book for you to read for free! Read it here: https://www.theickabog.com/home/
Continuing our history topic: The Ancient Egyptians https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zg87xnb/articles/z4m8pg8
What did the ancient Egyptians believe in? This lesson teaches about the gods that the Egyptians believed in.
You’ve already been on a ‘god-hunt’ (given as a Seesaw activity –
check it out, if you haven’t already). You can extend your learning by
finding out about the afterlife and the delightful (!) process of
mummification using this link:
http://www.primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk/egypt/mummies.htm
There are two downloads to print off this week for history:
Designing a death mask and making a mummy model
Seesaw Activity of the Week
‘Ancient Egyptian Art Museum’ has been chosen for you this week.
Although museums are now open, you can have a virtual trip around this
section of a museum which shows artefacts and evidence, helping our
understanding of ancient Egypt.
Geography
Take a look at Sir David Attenborough teaching about the world and
maps on the following link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p08gdffy/bitesize-911-year-olds-week-7-2-

Research using an atlas or an online atlas to locate as many different
European countries as you can on the download map of Europe provided

beyond the 15 requested. Perhaps you’ve visited some of them?
PSHE
Although this pandemic has been a challenging
time for everyone, there have been many
positives and the goodness of human nature
has been very evident, thankfully! Have a think
of some of the positives that have come out of
lockdown for you…Record them on the print-off
sheet provided.
Thursday’s Bitesize is all about
Singing and Well Being so do join
in and Keep Smiling!
Takeaway Learning
Outdoors activity: On the theme of maps
have a go at mapping an
outdoor space, such as
your garden. Hide some
treats or trinkets and add
these treasures to your
map. Then pass to a
friend - Can they find
the treasure?
