This year, Scott Dunn celebrates its 25th birthday; a milestone that makes me incredibly proud of where we’ve come from, and what we’ve become. To everyone, from our travel specialists to our valued guests, I’d like to thank you for making us what we are today.

When I look back to the start, I realise just how far we’ve come. We started with skiing, and now we offer the world. And because every holiday we create is tailor-made to fit, no matter where it takes you, there’s no limit to what we can achieve for our guests.

This selection of holiday ideas merely scratches the surface of what our specialists can craft for you. Whether you’re looking for the perfect honeymoon, a family adventure or simply a romantic escape for two, I hope you enjoy exploring the possibilities.

ANDREW DUNN

Every holiday you take should be unique. Magical, rewarding, rejuvenating, exciting and unlike any other you’ve ever had.

To us, there’s no such thing as a package holiday, available to buy off the shelf. So we look closer, to unearth the special things, the tiny touches that make a difference to each individual experience we craft.

We listen to our guests and learn from their experiences. And we re-visit the destinations we offer on a regular basis, just to check that we’re still using the best local guides for exploring the desert in Oman; or find out which week the lavender fields of Provence are at their glorious best.

We’re fussy about the details because we care. We look closer because if it were us taking that trip, we’d appreciate that it’s the little things that make the difference. It’s what puts the word special into specialist. After all, anything else is just a holiday.

When they’re not talking about, thinking about, and dreaming about travel, our specialists are out there seeing the world, and taking notes. Each spends around 4 weeks a year visiting the areas they focus on, gathering first hand knowledge not just of

each property, but every beach, every street, every mountain and every untrodden path. When you talk to us, you’re tapping into our wealth of knowledge. We know the best flight routes and the most experienced local guides, exactly when you can witness the best of

the zebra migration through the Kalahari. And where to go for the best Mojito you’ve ever tasted, with the finest sunset view.

Camilla, one of our Africa specialists, recently took to the skies in a microlight over South Luangwa in Zambia, to spot game in the National Park.

“The microlight is an amazing invention. We were soaring up to about 1500 feet, and sweeping down low over hippos and buffalo, along the bends of the river. At one point

we tracked a pack of wild dog as they headed out from their den on a hunting recce. This is a totally new way to view the world. As we glided smoothly back down to earth, I just thought I HAVE to recommend this to guests…”

Everyone is different, which is why we understand that while Mr and Mrs Jones’ highlight in Belize was a cruise up the Monkey River, your priority might be snorkelling around the famous Blue Hole. We realise that what a rustic tented camp under the stars does for one person, only a 5-star boutique hotel by the ocean will do for another.

So before we do anything, we listen to you and learn exactly what you like. We take time to understand what’s important to you, whether it’s for a honeymoon, an intrepid adventure or a family holiday with young children. Our suggestions for your holiday are based on your ambitions and your budget - not our personal preferences.

It’s your holiday, perfectly created just for you.

It’s ALL About you

Once upon a time you might have disappeared on a great escape with no one to worry about but yourselves, and the freedom to take each day as it came. With children in tow, there’s more to think about, but we think it’s simply a different kind of adventure, and one that’s just as exciting.

For those with little ones, we can make things as easy as possible. Many properties in our portfolio have superb children’s clubs and a family-friendly set-up. Or, if you’re keen to take them on a real adventure, we can craft something exciting that suits the whole family, from an African safari to an Australian escape.

Your honeymoon should be the most memorable, magical holiday you’ve ever taken. It’s the perfect excuse to do something special, whether it’s relaxing on a tropical beach just yards from your villa, embarking on an Indian adventure before heading to the Maldives, staying in a luxury camp on African plains, or pottering around Italy’s most romantic cities.

Our specialists will consider your budget, your thoughts about the kind of honeymoon you want to experience, and the special touches you want

to include. They’ll put together some options for you, bearing in mind the best places to visit for the time of year you’re going, and tweak and tailor to please, until your honeymoon is perfect.

Our Honeymoon List Service is a great alternative to the traditional wedding list, giving your friends and family the chance to contribute towards your honeymoon. It could mean the difference between an amazing holiday and a completely unforgettable experience.

Why usWe’ve been creating luxury tailor-made holidays for 25 years. We know the world, and we know how to help you discover the best of it, in style. We care about the details, we never take shortcuts, and we’re keen to go the extra mile. After all anything else is just a holiday

From the minute you call us, you’ll notice the difference. We favour the personal approach, which is why you get through to a specialist and not a

menu of recorded options. Just one of the reasons so many of our guests come back, year after year.

Above all, you can rely on us, no matter what. We’re a fully bonded tour operator, so you can enjoy complete peace of mind from the moment you’ve booked, whatever happens, come rain, snow or shine. We’ll take care of it all, from beginning to end.

We’ve set up a charitable fund that supports three projects in areas our guests visit. They bring long-term improvements to the lives of those living there: the Tusk Trust, which was founded to protect Africa’s wildlife and natural heritage by preserving the future of its land, culture and people; the Small

Steps Project which supports and raises awareness of children living on rubbish dumps around the world; and Travel Operators For Tigers, a pioneering international campaign to support a more responsible and sustainable approach to tourism in wilderness areas across the Indian subcontinent.

As the world we live in is an unpredictable place, we also keep a small reserve in case of major natural disasters. Following the earthquake in Japan, we donated to the RQ Centre who played a significant role in the huge clean-up effort that enabled people affected to return to their homes.

rIght Place, rIght tIme

With so many places to see in the world, choosing where to go is half the fun. But if you’re not sure where’s good to go for the time of year you want to travel, we can help. Our specialists know the weather patterns for their destinations, and when to catch amazing natural spectacles and cultural events.

January is great for big game viewing in Tanzania and sunshine in Sri Lanka. In June, you can encounter whale sharks

in western Australia. Peru’s Amazon rainforest is amazing in July. August is a great time to feed the giraffes who poke their heads into the breakfast room at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi, or to witness the spectacular migration of wildebeest across the Serengeti.

In September, thousands gather in Mexico for a spectacular equinox, honoured by the Mayan people who long ago built a huge pyramid to

celebrate it. The shadows cast on the pyramid during the equinox create the spectacle of a snake-like creature creeping down one side of the building.

If you’re keen to see manta rays in the Maldives, we’ll tell you when to go. If you’re more interested in Rio’s spectacular carnival than its climate, we can arrange a holiday around that time. Or perhaps you’d prefer to travel out of season, for better value and fewer people.

Watching the turtles nesting on the beach at Hon Bay Canh

The full storyWe think Amansara is the best address in Siem Reap. Formerly a guesthouse of the King, the restaurant serves up great local dishes, including the Cambodian speciality ‘Amok’. Siem Reap is home to the temples of Angkor, one of the world’s great wonders. Your guide will ensure you see them in full glory, away from the crowds. Sunrise over Angkor Wat is unforgettable – especially from a helicopter which we can arrange. After Cambodia, head

to the beach at Six Senses Con Dao on the little-known island of Con Son in southern Vietnam. Your villa has direct access to the golden beach and an uninterrupted view of the ocean from its private pool. Some of the best diving and snorkelling in Vietnam is here, or if you prefer dry land, you can explore this enchanting island by bicycle.

Suggested itinerary4 nights Amansara, Siem Reap, Cambodia; 6 nights Six Senses Con Dao, Vietnam
