INSTRUMENT AND OPERATION • Instrument Panel � Oil change indicator: This indicator at the initial 300 km, then at 1000 km and every 1000 km thereafter to indicate that the engine oil should be changed. After changing the engine oil, reset the oil change indicator. Pushing ADJ button switches the display between the various trip meter and odometer modes in the following order: ODO �TRIP A �TRIP B; ODO mode pressing "SEL button" more than 3 seconds oil change indicator will go off. � Trip meter/Odometer The display in the speedometer has three functions, ODO and TRIP A/ TRIP B. The trip meter can register the trip distance. The odometer registers the total distance that the scooter has been ridden. By pressing "ADJ button" more than 3 seconds to select the odometer (mile or km).

INSTRUMENT AND OPERATION • Instrument Panel � Engine trouble warning light:

This warning light comes on when an electrical circuit monitoring the engine is defective. When this occurs, have an AEON dealer check the self-diagnosis system.

� Fuel meter: With the key in the “ON” position, the fuel meter indicates the amount of fuel in the fuel tank. The display segments of the fuel meter disappear towards “E”(Empty) as the fuel level decreases. When the fuel level reaches the bottom segment near “E”, the fuel level warning indicator and the bottom segment will flash. Refuel as soon as possible.

� Clock mode: To set the clock, Press and hold the ADJ and SEL button for 3 seconds. The blinking digits can be changed using the ADJ buttons. Press the ADJ button to move 0-24 in the 24-hour mode. Press SEL button for 3 seconds to blinking digits can be changed using the ADJ buttons. Press the ADJ button to move 0-59 minute. Press SEL button for 3 seconds to store the settings.

• Main switch operation

ON All powers are connected and engine can be started. The key can’t be removed.

OFF All powers are cut off and engine stops. The key can be removed.

LOOK The Steering shaft is locked and all powers are off. The key can be removed to prevent pilferage.

FUEL The fuel tank cap will jump up.

Upon release, key will return to .

OPEN Turns the key clockwise to open seat up. The key can't be removed.

locked as the key at position and take out the key to prevent pilferage.

INSTRUMENT AND OPERATION • Handle Bar Lock

Turn the handlebar to full left end, push key in and turn anticlockwise from “ ” to “ ”. The steering is locked and key can be removed.

Push key in and turn clockwise from “ ” to “ ” and handlebar be free.

1. After locking, turn the handle bar gently to ensure the handle bar is locked.

2. During riding, don’t turn the main switch to “ ” position.

INSTRUMENT AND OPERATION • Electric starter: Press the start button and hold the R or L brake level to start the engine. CAUTION:

1. The built-in side stand switch is part of the ignition circuit cut-off system, which cuts the ignition in certain situations.

2. When press the start button, be sure to pull up the front or rear brake level in order to connect the power supply

3. Don’t press the start button as the engine running condition. • Head Light Switch: 1. At this position “̇ ”, the head, position and instrument light will

go out together.

2. At this position , position and instrument light will light together.

3. At this position , head light will light.

NOTE: The function of above is performed as engine is running.

High Beam: For farther light.

Low Beam: For driving in the city or two vehicles meet.

• Horn Button:

Turns the main switch to “ON” and press this switch to sound the horn.

The vehicle will right turn while the right signal light is flashing.

The vehicle will left turn while the right signal light is flashing.

1. Turn off the signal light at once, after the vehicle makes a turn already. 2. The signal switch will return center position, when press the signal switch.

• Compartment not waterproof.

• To prevent damage, lock hood when operating motorcycle.

1. The load of helmet box shall be not excess 10 kg.

2. Make sure the seat is locked before you leave.

PREVIOUSLY INSPECTION:

For the sake of safety and prevent the damage of vehicle, the previously inspection is absolutely required.

A. Engine Oil Check: (Refilling or change)

1. Place the vehicle by the main stand. 2. Start the engine, warm it up for several minutes, and then

turn it off. 3. Wait a few minutes until the oil settles, Take out the oil

gauge. 4. Clean the gauge and insert it into the hole. 5. Take the gauge out again and check the oil level. If the level

close to the lower limit, refill the engine oil to upper limit.

In order to maintain the excellent performance of engine, check the quantity of engine oil at each 500 km.

The temperature of engine and muffler is very high. Be careful, while you check the engine oil or spark plug.

Change the engine oil at first 300km and change it at each 1000km. Note:

The capacity of engine oil see page 3. Change Method:

1. Remove the oil gauge. 2. Remove the oil drain screw and draining the oil. 3. (When the engine at warm-up situation,

the engine oil will drain more easily) 4. Remove the cover of oil filter. 5. Clean the drain screw, and reinstall it. 6. Refill the engine oil about 0.9L. 7. Tighten the oil gauge firmly. 8. Warm-up the engine and check the oil level

again after the engine is stopped about one minute.

PREVIOUSLY INSPECTION: Engine Oil Change: B. Change Gear Oil:

Change the gear oil at first 300 km and change it at each 3000 km. The recommended gear oil is SAE # 80W-90.

1. Use the SAE # 0W40 or 0W50 engine oil and the oil level shall be

not excess the upper limit. 2. If the vehicle often be ridden on the macadam road, short distance

or keep in the idle speed for a long time then the engine oil should be changed more frequent.

1. Place the vehicle by main stand. 2. Remove the drain plug. 3. The vehicle at the warm-up situation and the gear oil is drained more easily. 4. Clean the drain plug and reinstall it. 5. Refill the gear oil into the gear box slowly. 6. Tighten the plug firmly again.

PREVIOUSLY INSPECTION: C. Air Cleaner:

The material of air cleaner filter is paper, clean it at each 2000 km and replace at each 5000 km.

D. Diagnostic tool connector The diagnostic tool connector located right of the battery in the battery box. We recommend this item be serviced only by your dealer. This scooter apply this connector for fuel system condition inspection. Check the fuel system condition using the recommended fuel system tester.

1. If the vehicle often ride in the rain or dusty area,

the air cleaner need clean more frequent. 2. If the air cleaner is not installed properly, dusty

should be sucked into cylinder. The performance will be affected and the service life should be reduce too.

3. Don’t wet the filter, otherwise the start of vehicle is difficult.

PREVIOUSLY INSPECTION: E. Front /Rear brake pad wear: Brake pad wear depends upon the severity of usage, the type of riding, and road conditions. (Generally, the pads will wear faster on wet and dirty roads.) Inspect the pads at each regular maintenance interval. Check the cutout in each pad. If either pad is worn to the cutout, replace both pads as a set. See your dealer for this service. Front /Rear Fluid Level: Check the fluid level: Make the handlebar straight and check the front brake fluid level which should be keep between the upper and lower limit. Front/Rear brake fluid refilling method: 1. Keep the handle bar straight and disassemble the 2 screws, take off the cover. 2. Refilling the recommended DOT-4 brake fluid until the level reaches the upper limit. 3. Put the cover into place and tighten the 2 screws.

Turn the main switch to “ON” position and hold the front and rear brake level, check the function G. Signal Light:

Turn the main switch to “ON” position, operate the signal light switch ensure the front and rear signal light whether working.

H. Spark Plug:

Fouling deposit on the spark plug electrodes and big gap may result incomplete sparking. The normal gap of electrode is about NGK CR7E 0.7~0.8 mm. The standard type of spark plug is NGK CR7E .

PREVIOUSLY INSPECTION: I. Battery:

This model is equipped with a sealed-type (MF) battery, which does not require any maintenance. There is no need to check the electrolyte or to add distilled water.

To store the battery: 1. If the vehicle will not be used for more than one month,

remove the battery, fully charge it, and then place it in a cool, dry place.

2. If the battery will be stored for more than two months, check it at least once a month and fully charge it if necessary.

3. Fully charge the battery before installation. 4. After installation, make sure that the battery leads are

properly connected to the battery terminals.

Electrolyte is poisonous and dangerous since it contains sulfuric acid, which causes severe burns. Avoid any contact with skin, eyes or clothing and always shield your eyes when working near batteries. In case of contact, administer the following FIRST AID. �EXTERNAL: Flush with plenty of water. �INTERNAL: Drink large quantities of water or milk and immediately call a physician. �EYES: Flush with water for 15 minutes and seek prompt medical attention.

If there is any gravel in the trade groves or any nail puncture etc., remove them before riding. If there is any crack or heavy worn-out, replace it with new one.

Check Normal Tire Pressure:

The specification see page 3. The pressure of front tire is 1.5 kgf/cm2 and rear tire is 2.0 kgf/cm2. (This pressure depended on the driving condition)

PREVIOUSLY INSPECTION: K. Front and Rear Shock Absorbers:

Apply pressure on both front handle bar and seat to check the function of front and rear absorbers. L. Check Front and Rear Light:

Start engine and turn on the R. switch, check the function of front and rear light.

M. Check Horn: Turn on the main switch, check the function of horn. N. Check License Plate: Check the screw of license plate. O. Check Muffler: Check the sound of muffler and the

exhaust leakage or not. P. Idle Speed It is not necessary to adjust idle speed. The throttle body is factory pre-set, do not loosen or tighten the painted bolts and screws of the throttle body. Idle Speed (see page 4). Loosening or tightening them can cause throttle and idle valve synchronization failure. We recommend the EFI (electronic fuel injection) system be serviced only by your dealer.

PREVIOUSLY INSPECTION: Q. Fuse Replacement When frequent fuse failure occurs, it usually indicates a short circuit or an overload in the electrical system. See your dealer for repair. NOTE: Never use a fuse with a different rating from that specified. Serious damage to the electrical system or a fire may result, causing a dangerous loss of lights or engine power. ENGINE START-UP AND CAUTION: 1. Check engine oil and gasoline before ride the vehicle. 2. Be careful to erect the main stand while starting the engine. 3. Turn main switch to “ON” position. 4. Use the electric motor starter, throttle handle should be not to rotate.

1. In the case, the engine will not be started after cranking about 3~4 seconds. 2. Turn the throttle slightly and the engine should be started. 3. In this situation, the engine will not be start easily. Turn the throttle handle gently and press the start

button for several time. 4. Before ride the vehicle, warm-up the engine for a few minute if the engine is cold.

1. Release the starter button immediately after engine start-up. 2. Don’t press the button, as engine running otherwise the some parts may be damaged. 3. Start-up the engine at an open area since the exhaust gases from the engine is poisonous

monoxide.

After the engine is started, make sure the kick regain the original position.

Watch out! Turn on the signal light before you get on the way when any vehicle approach.

The speed will become faster. The fuel shall be added slowly while starting or riding on ascending road, rotate around the handle gradually to increase the power.

CORRECT RIDING POINT: • Maintenance of Vehicle Performance and Lift Expectancy:

1. New vehicle should be operated at a speed below 50 km/hr within 1000km.

2. Don’t operate in full speed within 3000km.

3. After 300km, change the engine and gear oil.

• Application of Brake:

1. Apply brake to both front and rear brakes at the same time. 2. Pull the brake tight after the accelerator return to close position.

Apply only one wheel brake will cause the vehicle to slip.

CORRECT RIDING POINT: • Stop of the Vehicle: Approaching to the parking point:

1. Turn on signal light to warn the vehicle coming from rear in advice. Decelerate and drive along the road side slowly for stop.

2. Apply both front and rear wheel brakes while the vehicle is stopped.

• Complete Stop: Engine will be stopped as the main switch turn to OFF position.

CORRECT RIDING POINT: • Parking:

1. Get off from the left side after stop, choose a flat ground to park vehicle by stand.

2. Don’t park on uneven tipping ground. 3. Park the vehicle by holding steering handle

with your left hand and holding the luggage carrier with your right hand

4. Erect the main stand by kick the main stand

pedal with your right foot.

TROUBLESHOOTING • Abnormalities and Trouble Shooting:

If the engine fails not to start or engine fails not to keep running try to diagnose these malfunction by yourself as following: 1. Check the fuel tank. 2. Whenever the procedure for engine start-up is correct.

Contact the local dealer as soon as possible for checking on any abnormalities of your vehicle.
