2019 was a record-breaking year for UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ. For the first time in its history, the Group’s consolidated revenue exceeded EUR 1 billion, while the consolidated value of assets reached EUR 916 million. I would like to thank each of the 4.6 thousand employees for their loyalty and daily work that contributes to our overall success, and to assure you that, in the face of emerging challenges, we will strive to maintain competitive advantage and sustainable growth.
The value we create contributes significantly to the Lithua-nian economy. Last year, the contribution UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ made to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 3.42% and the total amount of taxes paid to the state stood at almost EUR 117 million. The performance of almost all of our companies operating in the fields of fertilizer production, agriculture and energy has in-creased. This was achieved through efficient sourcing of raw materials and organisation of production processes, optimal management of production and sales risks, and exploiting the synergy provided by the Group.
Most of the Group companies were profitable and achieved excellent results. Unfortunately, some critical decisions had to be made by terminating the activity of the printing servic-es company AB Spaustuvė Titnagas and of UAB Achema Mokymo Centras.
Just like every year, we paid a lot of attention to creating a socially responsible business. We continued to invest in environmentally friendly and pollution-reducing solutions,
paying employees competitive salaries and offering addition-al benefits, such as health insurance or medical services, focusing on the needs of local communities.
This year, the Group continues the planned development in strategic areas. We intend to focus mainly on renewable energy, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions, de-pendence on fossil fuel and is therefore one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. Keeping in mind other busi-nesses, we plan to allocate the largest investments in 2020 to renewable energy.
It is clear that the global spread of coronavirus COVID-19 will inevitably affect the global economy, which is already moving in the direction of slowing growth. This situation requires us to be even more focused and quick to respond to constant changes. Our priority is, first of all, to protect our employees, partners and the community, and secondly, to carry out uninterrupted production, ensuring the supply of fertilizers to farmers and providing other products and ser-vices needed during the crisis.
We are determined to use our available resources to adapt to changing circumstances, ensure the continuity of the Group‘s sustainable operations and seize every opportunity.
I believe that, even in difficult times, we can cope with the challenges together. None of the past years has been easy for us, but many years of business experience, a solid finan-cial base and a strong staff provide assurance that we are well prepared for the challenges.
Dear employees, partners, shareholders,

The social responsibility strategy of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ includes our commitment to developing a transpar-ent and sustainable business, maintaining respectful relationships with our employees, contributing to the solution of issues relevant to the society, especially local communities, and reducing the environmental impact of production processes.
In 2005, the companies of the Group joined the network of the United Nations global compact on sustainable and socially responsible policy, the United Nations Global Compact, and also became a member of the Global Compact Network Lithuania. The Group and its subsidiaries operate in accord-ance with the 10 principles of the Global Compact in the areas of human rights, working conditions, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
In 2019, the total salary fund of the companies of UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ amounted to
EUR 99.4 million. The majority of our manufacturing companies have trade unions with which we are constantly cooperating, and the social package targets employees of all ages. In addition to com-petitive salaries, they are granted additional health insurance, we encourage them to study and im-prove their qualifications, play sports, and organise various activities, events and celebrations for them.
One example of our focus on the health of the em-ployees is Achema, the manufacturer of fertilizers and chemical products in Jonava, which is probably
the only one in Lithuania that has its own health centre and provides its employees with free health care services. Last year alone, Achema allocated more than EUR 300 thousand for the maintenance of the health centre.
We believe that our companies operating in various regions of Lithuania feel the needs of the local com-munities best; therefore they choose and implement social responsibility projects themselves. The largest companies of the Group are actively involved in regional social, cultural, sports and other projects. We are proud that the partnership of the companies of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ with the local communities often lasts for more than a decade.
ACHEMOS GRUPĖ companies cooperate with educational institutions, non-governmental organ-isations, and support cultural and social organisa-tions.
We pay special attention to the environment. Since 2005, the largest company of the Group Achema has invested about EUR 88 million in the modernisa-tion of ammonia workshops and environmental pro-tection projects. Targeted environmental solutions have enabled the company to reduce and eliminate
about 26 million tonnes of greenhouse gases over 15 years and achieve the lowest pollution possible with the latest technology.
We constantly call on the institutions of the Euro-pean Union and the Lithuanian state that the funds collected for emission allowances (ETS) should be directed to the improvement of the environment, reduction of pollution, funding of research and inventions, and call for the establishment of funds for industry to reduce CO2 emissions without losing the ability to compete in the global market.
The stevedoring and logistics companies of the Group operating at Klaipėda Seaport constantly monitor environmental indicators and have imple-mented solutions that reduce the impact on the environment. They ensure that pollutants do not enter the air, land or water and that the quality of the wastewater meets all requirements.
The companies of ACHEMOS GRUPĖ in the ener-gy sector, their main activities helping to reduce the burden on land and producing clean energy from renewable sources, reducing dependence on fossil fuel, contribute to the development of green energy.
In 2020, social responsibility and sustainable activities will continue to be among our top priorities

UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ is one of the largest national capital business groups in the country, exploiting the traditional potential of Lithuanian industry to create added value for shareholders, partners, employees and the economy of the entire country.
The main strength of the Group is the strong integ- ration of businesses, which allows for smoother and more efficient production and delivery of pro- ducts to customers, and enables the companies to optimise operations and costs.
The integrity of the businesses of UAB koncernas ACHEMOS GRUPĖ is reflected in its entire busi-ness chain: the companies of the Group sell ferti-lizers produced by Achema to Lithuanian farmers, and the grain products grown by them are pur-
chased and dried in the elevators of the Group’s companies. From there, the grain is transported to Klaipėda Seaport, loaded onto ships by KLASCO and transported to various countries around the world. Fertilizers produced in Jonava also reach European farmers through the value chain: they are transported by rail to KLASCO operating at Klaipėda Seaport; from there, they are transported by ship to European ports and sold to European farmers in France, Germany, Belgium, Poland and other countries.
