Note from the director The Parks & Recreation program staff and over 55+ staff have planned numerous opportunities with on going programs and special events for residents of all ages. In addition to our many great programs, staff have introduced donut decorating, jewelry making, calligraphy, winter science & art and a cornhole tournament for 16+. Special events include Santa’s Workshop on December 6th along with the Christmas Tree Lighting and Winter Wonderland in February. As always, people can have a delicious breakfast weekdays at the Community Center and we provide nutritious lunches for over 55+ folks weekdays, except Wednesdays. Weather permitting, Mill Pond will be open for supervised ice skating. Trails at Bittner Park, East River Preserve, as well as other wooded areas and open fields, offer great cross country skinning, snowshoeing and winter hiking. Sledding is popular at the Baldwin School hill and on the small hill at Bittner Park. I thank Ellen Clow, Taryn Erb, Connor Negri and Terry Buckley for their efforts to bring these programs, events and trips to our community. Sincerely, Rick Maynard, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Seniors
